I wanted a laptop to replace an old Toshiba I had for years that would no longer support current software. After doing research for over six months I decided on this HP Pavilion DV6 notebook PC. I immediately regretted the purchase as soon as I got it home. The keyboard is so awkward. I used to type for a living so my typing skills are pretty strong. The keyboard home row on this notebook is not ergonomically correct. I continually hit the all caps key instead of A if I don't remember to position my hands farther to the right. This killed my wrists. In addition, this is one of the slowest notebooks to boot up I have ever experienced. I can literally turn on this notebook, go make a sandwich and come back and the notebook is barely opening up the desktop screen. It's wireless range of capability is lacking to say the least. This notebook is very frustrating. The battery never lasted more than an hour either. Now, it won't last more than 20 minutes. I don't consider it a laptop if you have to constantly be plugged in at a desk. I do not recommend this notebook to anyone.

I love this laptop. I bought it a few years back and still have it. It still works wonders. I am a college student who needs something fast and reliable and this is it! I can complete school work and browse the internet at the same time. I can stream videos in perfect color. HP customer care is awesome as well! If I ever have questions, they are quick to answer them. I love the fact that I can take my computer anywhere and know that it will do what I want it to do. I also like that it has a nice, clean look to it.....It is not to small or to large and fits in my luggage. I would recomend asking lots of questions when it comes to buying a computer. Make sure that you have the one that fits your needs. For me, this is it. One downfall that I do consider bad is that I have had to have it repaired once because the screen flipped out. But HP was quick to fix the problem with their awesome care, and it works great now!

This is an amazing laptop and it priced right for the average computer user. I had a dell inspiron previous to this and had serious issues with it. To date I am very happy with it. This laptop is blazing fast processor and a 1/2 terabite hard drive. The one thing that I wish it had more of was ram. The base model only comes with 2 gigs of ram, on occasion you can get an upgrade to 3. If you want something that will last you will have to upgrade the ram- I upgraded to 6 gigs, but it came at a rather high cost. The screen size is great and the graphics are wonderful (granted I upgraded to the mid range graphics card). The keyboard takes some getting used to as the layout is little bit different than most other keypads, but it is a great keyboard over all. Also it includes a standard numaric keypad that most other keypads do not have (including my last laptop). The weight is good, about 5-6 lbs, dependant upon what options you get and what battery you choose. I went with the bigger battery and it lasts me almost all day long. Over all great laptop that I am very pleased with.
