Whenever I get a new phone, the first thing I do is pick up a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) case. TPU is the perfect material for a phone case. It is just the right texture for placing it in your pocket without it grabbing on your clothes making it difficult for remove. It also it not slippery enough to slide around on surfaces. It provides adequate protection for almost any situation.
