I purchased this thinking that it would be fun to use during summer picnics and such. It wasn't. This is supposed to process one quart of ice cream mixture into soft serve in "just" thirty minutes. Thirty minutes is really a ridiculous amount of time to plan ahead for when you think guests may want ice cream. The little freezer bowl needs to be kept in the freezer until ready to be used. That's really the only good thing I can say about this is that thank goodness it does not require ice and salt like some other machines. It is easy to transfer the ice cream mixture into the bowl and get things started. Then you turn it on and wait and wait and wait. And wait some more. When the product does finally emerge it does not resemble soft serve in the least. It is perhaps the consistency of a thick milkshake but is certainly nowhere near a soft serve! So, while this is relatively easy to use it does not perform well and I really cannot recommend it.
