The Dell XPS 420 is a great system, for all uses including gaming, very reliable. Have had no problems for it. Dell service there when you need it. We have more 'tools' than we know what to do with, many USB ports, CD R\W and DVD player. With the 22 inch monitor viewing DVD's is okay, will get a Blu-Ray player on the next one.  There are a few items on the tower we have no idea what their use is but maybe SOMEDAY we will have time to figure them out. The monitor is a Dell 22 inch flat screen with a sound bar, pretty good sound and it doesn't take up as much desktop space as just using speakers. We just bought a Dell laptop, our 4th Dell system. (We were looking at another Gateway before the company was sold.) Absoutely no problem upgrading system software from the Dell website, all we have to do is try to remember to go to Dell to see what is new, or if any patches are there. Although we have been using PC's for a few years we are always learning and so far have not crashed they system.

This computer is fast and came with a pretty good quality video card. It has a good amount of RAM and came with a large flat screen which I love. The screen is very sleek and has high quality graphics, which is great! The quirks though... would be that the keyboard won't work for a couple of minutes after the computer goes into sleep mode. This is VERY annoying. Sometimes the mouse does the same thing. It's like it's frozen for a few minutes for no reason. I have gotten errors about the audio card since the first week i had it and I have updated drivers/called Dell customer support and the issue still has not been fixed. I see, from reading online, that a lot of people have the same issues. If Dell were to fix these issues, this computer probably would get aany complaints from me. It came with Windows Vista, which I had never used before but now that I have, I completely love it and wouldn't want to use any other operating system.

*This item is impressive in looks. It has this black and silver color that is popular these days. It does have a masculine look to it. It looks good in our home office. I also like the little tiny monitors on the motherboard itself. Very very cool. The features are impressive too. The only thing i felt like i needed is the WORD processor in easy access. I have to go to ALL PROGRAMS buttong and find it there first before going to somewhere else and type my text in WORD format. Other than that it is fine. Hhmmm, the downside that i can see also is the keyboard that goes with it. It is a small and unusual looking keyboard which was never been comfortable either to me or to my husband to use. It is so light that when you type it moves and makes tick tack sound because when you type fast like me it does felt like you are knocking it off. I replace that keyboard and got an ergonomic one. * Overall, i would recommend the XPS 420. But i am sure Dell already comeup with something better than this one.

I enjoy playing games, and writing, so for my uses this is a great computer. I do think there could be a better system to the Vista, I do not think it was better then XP or in fact windown98 special addition. I am someday looking forward in trying windows 7. I love making cards, using the web. I still find the computer slows down a lot, and too manything are made to run right of the bat. I think there should always b minimal things running, and if need be have a ask to run before starting.  All in All. I have had Gateways and Dells, A new one or two every couple of years. I havebought 4 Dell computer Desktops, two Dell laptops, and I bought a wide screen monitor for playing games and banking. We need reliability today. I rely on Dell. I also always upgrade from the sound cards, memory, even wireless key board and mouse. Thank you Dawn Keller

What can i say about the XPS420, the hardware that this computer comes with is a never ending list of cool stuff. But if you looking for just a regular computer for surfing the net and doing a little homework, this computer is not for you! BUT if you into downloading music, taking pictures, and playing a few games on the PC, then this is right for you!!! I love this BEAST, its fast reliable, and i have never had a problem with it since i bought it, and i had it for over a year!!   Must have!!!

I've owned about a half dozen various PC compatible and one Apple computer since my first computer many years ago.  This is the fastest, most responsive and quetest computer of them all.  The pnly thimg it dors that I don't like is that it doesn't exit IE properly.  And that's probably a software issue.

The Dell PC Desktop has the name Dell in it, what more assurance do you need that you own a superior product.   I've been a Dell owner since 1997 and they have always delivered on its promise.  Whatever your price range is Dell can customize a PC for you.  Whatever your specifics are Dell has a PC they can design for you. Dell can find a perfect fit for anyone in its line of PC's. Whatever version of Windows I run, runs smoothly on my Dell PC.  I'm on my Dell PC quite frequently and it never crashes and burns out on me.

This computer provides all the power I need for my extensive use for photo images and all my downloaded music. It comes with Norton security which has not let a virus etc in in the 2 + years I have been using it. It is also a decent gaming computer and has been able to handle any games I have attempted to play. As far as doing Dockuments the works program handles all that quite well. The only addition I can see I would like to have is another cd-dvd player to accompany my cd-r dvdr player. It has slots for all video cards which is also nice. It comes with windows vista which can be a little quirky but is satisfactory for the most part, Overall its a great machine for the money. Iam very very happy with this unit
