I'm a maintenance supervisor for a large property owner in So Cal. Over the last 10 years I've had the importunity to build a trust in Dewalt cordless tools. Because our crew have to travel up to 800 mikes a month to get to job sites, and there being no, or limited power at some of these sites, we had to come up with a universal power tool that would or could be used on just about any job, for any task. I found that by providing these tools, we maintain continuity in batteries, and assessaries. We find the saws-all to be powerful, and dependable. and only 2nd to their drills. Their compression drills are strong for their size, and flashlights are strong and seem to maintain their integerity, even after being sumerged in water. I would highly reccomend these tools to any professional, but they most likely know already the quality and craftmenship built into Dewalt cordless tools. I think that the person that needs them most, but doesn't know it, is the homeowner. They would find that these tools will last years. There are no Con's... And any Pro would reccomend The Dewalt cordless tool system.

Great cordless drill

4

A couple of years ago, I received a DeWalt kit as a gift, and it included this cordless drill, as well as a cordless saw and a few other items. They have worked wonders and I use them on a weekly basis. To this day, they're still holding up and getting the job done without any headaches or problems. The reason for giving the drill 4 stars instead of 5 is that I have found a few battery problems. While the drill has been flawless, I have bought a couple of lemons for batteries and even the batteries that do work well at first seem to deteriorate more quickly than they should. After just a few uses, they seem to need to be recharged on a daily basis and when in use they don't last for more than ~30 minutes without wearing down drastically. But if you have a couple of spares handy, this won't be a very big issue as they can be taken out and replaced with ease. The battery situation isn't ideal, but it's acceptable only because the drill is so great.

have an extra battery if you are working on an eight hour day

As  landlords ,who do all the work ourselves and enjoy the sense of "whew" that's finished, we have a garage full of power tools.  At our age, old enough to retire,  we need all the help we can get  so using this "one" is like  have an extra hired hand.  We love the DeWalt tools.   A good idea if you are doing an eight to ten hour day, buy an extra battery and take your battery charger on location.

A must have for every handyman

The DeWalt Cordless drill is a must have for every handyman or women.  They are built to last many years and light enough a female can handle the unit.  The battery pack stays charged for hours which helps cut down on delays or frustrations when trying to work on a job.  Plus they offer additional batteries you can buy seperatly so you always have one on the charger.  The bits are easy and fast to change which I find very helpful when standing on a ladder or working in hard to move places.    We have owned DeWalt power tools for years and they have always out preformed any other brand we have stumbled across.  They hold their battery charge, have long lasting tips and bits, have a heavy duty motor that can take abuse, and are user friendly to people of all ages.  They are streamlined in design so you can get into hard to reach places plus they fit in a normal tool belt drill holder.  The carry case - the black one they come in - offers great storage and protects the drill when not in use.

Just what everyone needs

I have tried several types of drills and these are by far the very best.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone.  Before we had our own we would borrow one weekly from my dad to finish odd jobs around the house or at work.  As managers of a self storage facility, it is a definite need.  The battery has a very long life and doesn't take too long to charge.  Plus, if you have two batteries you don't need to have a battery charge waiting time.  There is a wide assortment of drill bits and drivers that are easily attached and used.  You can do almost anything with this thing!  They are very powerful as well.  At the storage unit facility we use our drill for our customers who lose all the keys to their lock.  The locks we use are designed to be hard to get into, and granted, they still are, but we've tried using other drills that didn't get the job done, but this one does.  It is a great product and we'll always use DeWalt here.

Dewalt tools in general are very good for the money they can't be beat. The drills I use on a dailey bases are worked very hard and Dewalk hold up better than most that I have used in the past thirty years of repair work.

Dewalt Drills are the top of the line

The Dewalt Drill Line is a favorite of mine. I just love my dewalt drill.  It is more for a pro or semi professional, like the guy that has all the tools in his garage.  This drill has multi speeds and all the parts can be replaced if any are needed so you never really need to replace the whole drill.  The brushes are the part that wears down the quickest and you will notice that if your drill starts to smoke or spark.  DONT throw it out. Very easy to get the part and replace. The drill is a bit heavy as far as drills go so if you have to use it for a long time it might not be the best.  As far as power, you cant get any better in my opinion.  I own at least five drills and always select my Dewalt first for almost any job.  The battery last a pretty long time and can be used for many other tools.  The upkeep of the batteries will cost more than the drill as a single battery is not cheap.  If you find them for a good deal, I would buy them even if I didnt need them because you will sometime.  It is the drill that does everything and really never needs to be replaced.  I am a guy that says get the best right away dont work your way up to it when it comes to tools.

they are affordable and you can get accessories everywhere

The Dewalt cordless drill is the most recognizable and available drill on the market today. The drill has excellent tork and even the 18v model is not too heavy. The 24v is a little heavier but if you are not working overhead a lot the 24v is probably the most desired for a commercial application. I believe the 18v wold manage very well for commercial and for the do it yourself person. They come with a keyless chuck and depending on the drill you choose, they come with a hammer drill capability for doing projects in concrete or masonry. With all he available extras you can do everything from setting screws, sanding with disk's or just drilling holes. Dewalt has a comfortable grip and is balanced well with the contour of the handle in relationship to the motor and the battery. I suggest getting the other tools in a package such as the circular saw and flashlight. I have dropped an 18v from fifteen feet in the air and it survived.
