Most department stores have a Clinique brand cosmetic counter. A few times a year they have what is called, "Clinique Bonus Time" where they give away a gift (usually some type of bag filled with sample and full sized Clinique products) to lure you into buying their cosmetics. It is good marketing as it attracts instant business as well as future business. This year I needed some more of their tinted moisturizer and hit the counter for the bonus. The bonus set came in a bronze trimmed cosmetic bag that contained Dramatically Different Moisturizer, Self Sun Daily Body Moisturizer, Up-lighter, a small jar of All About Eyes, a full lipstick and mascara. I chose the option for lighter skin and took it home. I wasn't overly excited about trying the self sun product as I have tried several self tanning lotions and potions over the years only to be disappointed with them as they have turned my skin orange, left it streaked or broken out. I had all but given up on them and decided that they just weren't worth the effort of trying. As I examined the other products, I played around with them, trying out the lipstick and mascara. I put everything away and the next day decided I'd give the self sun product a chance to redeem all self tanners everywhere. Although the self sun product that came in the Bonus was for the Body I used it on my Face. I braced for the worse, but hoped for the best. This product is oil-free, non-acnegenic, dermatologically tested and softens the skin. It is not the slightest bit orange, does not streak or cause any break-outs. Good stuff. Effectiveness I am glad that I gave into Clinique's new product. I didn't notice a difference right away, but by the afternoon I looked healthier. The Clinique Self Sun Body Daily Moisturizer had given me just a touch of sunshine, as though it had kissed my face. I've used it everyday for over a week now and the product has gotten a little darker- not a lot, just enough color to give me the look of being naturally touched by the sun.
