This makes smoke barbqueing worth the wait!

We bought this smoker to start making jerky. I wasnt keen on the idea at all beacuse t takes forever to make however after the first round it was well worth it.First off the grills appearnce is real nice.I was disappointed that after a few times of use it started to look used and real hard to clean but the actual way that it smokes and makes the food taste so great is a real plus.I like that its not to heavy to move.I likethe thermometer so you can see the tempature and I like that the grills and bottom bowl are easy to take in and out. The directions are easy to understand and the look of it is nice.If I was to recommend this I would recommend it to patient people who can wait all day to eat,Its the whole smoke grill concept but its not for everyone because you need charoal and flavored chips to burn and water is involved and alot of time so it takes special kind of people to do it,but as far as the actual grill it is nice and I would recommend it.

Quite time consuming but for the price, it is perfect

We were given this grill as a gift and were very excited about using it. My husband loves to experiment with seasoning meat and fish and thought this would be an easy way to master smoking. Maybe we just were not that familiar with smoking meat and the time it takes to tend to it and continually add water and turn the meat. He had to wake up every couple of hours throughout the night to make sure that what we were smoking was not burning and that the water had not dried up. The whole process required continual monitoring for about 18 hours. Once done, it was well worth it. The incredible taste of the food was amazing. Smoky and rich and buttery, all the while melting in your mouth and so tender. We would definitely recommend this to a friend. However, one needs to be very aware that it is inexpensive compared to the more costly smokers but also requires more work and effort. The cleanup also requires some pretty extensive elbow grease.

Great Investment

My husband was asking for a smoker for a very long time and when I saw it on sale I knew I had to get it.  I was super excited when I brought it home and looking forward to cooking with it.  The first time we used it we noticed that if you don't pay attention to it closely the food will burn.  When you sit with it and cook the food tastes absolutely amazing.  It is a great size for our patio. We use it atleast a few times a month and we always get great reviews on how the meat tastes.  There are a few things I dislike about the unit, you have to keep on eye on it constantly or the food will burn, plus it states it is rust proof. We didn't have it for a month when it started to rust.  It no longer looks nice but it still cooks some really great and delicious food! So all and all I would have to say it was a great buy for the price and a great addition to the patio.  Meat tastes so much better when it is smoked!

Delicious results... but smoking takes a LOONG time.

I bought this smoker for my husband second hand, and it was a great bargain.  We only have large gatherings a couple of times a year, so it didn't make fiscal sense to purchase a new one because you have to have a WHOLE day to prepare the meat through smoking.  That being said, if you have 6+ hours, then you will have DELICIOUS results.  Don't rush the cooking, or you won't get the traditional smoke ring that BBQ pros are known for.  We watched a few You Tube videos before smoking for the first time, and that definitely helped.  So far we have used this Char-Broil to smoke a brisket, a few pork roasts, and even a small turkey.  If you're using it in colder temps, like the fall for a Thanksgiving turkey, it will definitely take longer.  You will need a good meat thermometer to check the done-ness of the meat.  You will also need to check the thermometer at the top and the water chamber as well.  We purchased some wood pellets that add hickory flavor to the meat, and that is a cheap addition to this economical smoker.  Do NOT use in an enclosed area like a garage or patio or everything will STINK for weeks.

My Brinkman Smoker/Grill is one of my best investments.

I bought my Brinkman Smoker/Grill some 6 years ago and it goes everywhere I go. I learned how to smoke meats with it and grill year around. I am still learning and plan on purchasing another one just like it for wear and tear purposes. I have smoked from Fish to Prime Rib to Turkeys in it and grilled everything imaginable. For the size and portableness, you could not buy a better smoker/grill for the price. Cooking experience is beyond imagination.

Smoky and Liqueous Flavor

Man, what a grill. This particular item is unique because it involves water. I think that you use water as a requirement for grilling meats and other foods. It probably gives the meats an unique and rich flavor. It is not too heavy or too light but just at the medium weight. This is good to use for one day of good weather and you can prepare and gather chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, seafood, vegetables, or other foods to cook separately or more at one time. I would like to enjoy the taste quality of the food besides having the normal taste of charcoal grilled food. I know that this grill is charcoal but the fact that it contains water or requires water for smoking sounds tasty and different. This charcoal water smoker is nice to look. It is durable. It is attractive to view. From my opinion, if your neighbor sees that you have this particular item, he or she may be your competitor. But then again, you may win him and his/her family over by inviting them to a yard barbeque.
