Cedar Lane Mushroom & Monterey Jack Cheese Tamales with roasted red pepper sauce can be cooked in the microwave or the oven, has organic corn & mushrooms and is certified organic by Quality Assurance International.    I used the microwave method and I was really disappointed. There are a lot of flowery faq's on the box about the ancients and corn, and a shpeal about warriors and fire pits and the tamale's origin but the product does not measure up to the box claims. I had great expectations for this entree because I love organic and all natural easy to prepare foods but the tamales are gummy and pasty and the red pepper sauce masks the taste of the mushroom and cheese filling which is a shame because the two were a nice flavor combination. I definitely couldn't pick up the tamales in my hands like they talk about on the box and show in the picture. Maybe the oven method would make the product a little bit firmer but it wouldn't improve the taste. The overall feeling was like, "gee this is it?"
