Something I make for a dinner a lot is BBQ beef sandwiches.  I cook a large roast in a crock-pot for hours, then shred it and pour BBQ sauce all over it.  Over the years, I have tried many BBQ sauces including one I like quite well, [KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce][1] , but my absolute favorite is still **Cattlemen's Classic Barbecue Sauce.** The label on the back of the bottle says: "Year after year, Cattlemen's BBQ Sauce has been the #1 choice of professional chefs and the secret behind award winning BBQ at the World Championship Barbecue contest at Memphis in May." Cattlemen's makes several varieties of barbecue sauce, but my favorite is "classic".  I haven't tried all their flavors, but "classic" is so perfect, I can't imagine anything else being better.  It has the perfect blend of seasoning and spices.  It's a little spicy, a little tangy, a little hickory, not too sweet and totally perfect.  There's definitely a little zip in it, perhaps from mustard bran.  It also has the perfect amount of vinegar in it. Ok so I jump on Viewpoint's and see this product. Everyone who reviewed it gave it nothing less than 4 stars. Me being a bbq sauce fanatic I said to myself, "I got to try this one out." I go to the supermarket and I see this nice pretty packaged bottle of Cattlemen's Classic Barbecue Sauce. I take it home after buying it turn on my stove throw in some seasoned chicken drumsticks pour this on and begin eating. First off, the seal is really annoying to remove. Secondly, the sauce is ok at best and I do not like watery bbq sauces so automatically I went in with a mindset that something was just not right. I was right because the taste was more hype from reviews generated than anything else. Even my wife said that this sauce was ehhh alright. We ate our dinner but this is going to stay in the refrigerator until we get annoyed and forget about the money we put up for this and toss it in the garbage. The next time I go to buy bbq sauce to put on my food it would not be this!

  After reading fellow Viewpoints member [this2shallpass19's Review][1]  about **Cattlemen's Classic Barbecue Sauce** I knew I'd have to try it becasue it sounded like somerthing my husband and I would really like. I'm a big fan of crock-pot cooking and often make these "bbq-style" pork ribs that are slow cooked in barbecue sauce where the meat nearly falls off the bone. I usually use Sweet Baby Ray's which works well for this recipe but figured it was time to change things up a bit and give Cattlemen's a try. I made a pot of the ribs on Monday night and they were a hit ! The BBQ sauce is flavored just right and has a nice kick of spice which is exactly what I like. The balance of flavors is delicious, it's definitely not overly bold, sweet or smoky yet it sinks into the meat and loads it up with big rich flavor. I like that the tomato base is nice and thick, not runny, so it stays where you put it. After slowly cooking in the sauce for hours the ribs fill the air with mouth watering aroma that's hard to miss. It was difficult not to dig in and try one before they were totally done, that's how good it smelled.
