I received the Gizmo Hand Mixer as a gift; when I first saw it I was pretty excited about it because it came with three attachments and because it was a Black & Decker product I had high hopes that it would see a lot of use. This is a cordless mixer so that presents a problem right away; if it isn't left on the charger when not in use then it isn't going to have the power to mix or blend anything. If you are someone that only does a little mixing or makes a single cake once a month then this would be ideal but if you are looking for something that is industrial and can replace several different types of mixers you are going to be disappointed with the power of this. The three attachments that come with the Gizmo are a flat drink mixer that can be used on soft ice cream or to make smoothies, a large whisk beater and a standard beater. Since you are only getting one of each of them and only one can be used at a time you aren't going to get the same blending results as you would from a regular two-beater hand mixer. For smaller jobs like beating eggs or making a glass of chocolate milk from a powdered mix this is ideal but it has trouble handling mashed potatoes, mixing cake batter, blending fruit that isn't partially broken down and breaking up lumps in gravy. When I initially saw this in a store I thought that it would be a nice thing to have in the kitchen but after I got one as a gift and used it for various mixing and blending jobs I can only recommend this for light weight blending and mixing. If this were more powerful and didn't feel like a toy when you were using it I would have a higher rating for it but until Black & Decker redesigns this it is only going to be something that is going to appeal to the Saturday morning chef or someone that only needs an entry level product for basic blending and mixing. Black & Decker Gizmo Hand Mixer is ok, but not really needed. This mixer is kind of an "in-between" mixer. It is larger and more versatile than a hand stick style mixer. And it is much smaller and less powerful than a regular stand style mixer. But I didn't really think I had a need for it. It does work well. But I use other tools in my kitchen instead of this. Something like instant pudding can be mixed with a hand whisk or my stick mixer. I tried using the Gizmo to whip cream and it did an ok job but again, the stick mixer does the job just as well. For any larger jobs (like mixing cake mix or cheese cake), the my stand style mixer is a better tool. I don't want to have to hold the mixer in my hand for 3 to 5 minutes to mix batter. I downsized my kitchen and got ride of items that I didn't need or use anymore. The Gizmo was one of the first things to go. Although it does a fairly good job, I just didn't need it, so I gave it to a friend's college-aged daughter. She loved it! Rating: About a 7 in ability. But a score of about 4 for need. My overall score is a 6.

I gave this mixer to my grandmother for her birthday, and within a day it had stopped working. We returned it and received another one, hoping it was just a single faulty mixer but that was not the case. The little motor does not have enough power to mix anything that is not liquefied and does a poor job at that. Mixing Performance Does not mix well at all. The attachments are flimsy and wouldn't stay securely locked into the handle. Ease of Cleaning We really didn't have an opportunity to clean it much, as we only had it a few days. There is a groove where the attachments lock in and food seemed to get sucked up into the area, and of course its not a good idea to submerge or spray it with water, so we had to use q-tips to remove the food. Ease of Use The attachments didn't want to stay in the hole, and kept falling out every few minutes. Not to mention that the motor wasn't really strong enough to keep them moving and beating at a reasonable speed. Design I like the idea of the design, it is compact and you can hang it on the wall, but otherwise its a total fail. The enacting of the design just doesn't work. Durability Not a good choice on any of the components of the mixer. Would not trust it to do anything I truly needed doing.

I absolutely LOVE this handy little mixer. It is great for smaller lighter duty mixing needs and it is nice not to have to drag out the big stand mixer for some tasks Mixing Performance Again, great for lighter mixing jobs, I have used this for mixing cakes, pumpkin pie filling, beating eggs for omelets, etc... I didn't find it suitable for heavy jobs like thick batters/breads. Ease of Cleaning SUPER easy to clean, the attachments clean up quickly and easily in warm soapy water and the wall mounted base cleans easily with a damp rag. It is easy to keep this looking like new. Ease of Use Simple to use, my kids love using this and I have had to settle arguments about whose turn it was to run it. Design Sleek simple design makes it a pleasure to use. Durability I have had mine for a few years with absolutely no issues, the battery stays charged for an acceptable amount of time and even after almost two years, it is still going strong. This is used heavily by younger children (9-14 years old) so it has withstood a bit of abuse.

I received this mixer as a gift during a secret Santa. If you're looking for a power mixer look elsewhere. Even as far as mixing cake mix, if it's not fully charged, it's useless. I've used the whisk without the mixer more times than with. If you have a hand and can move your arm, a spoon would easily do the work of this mixer. My favorite feature of this product is the drink stirrer but once again it only does well on a full charge. The charge on this product does not last long and I don't have the plugs enough to waste space keeping it charged up. Many recommend this for college students, but if you're cramped for space, and plug-ins, I don't suggest it. For people that bake a lot, go for a better mixer. There's nothing this will do that is of any benefit for anyone that bakes. The things the mixer can do, you can do by hand and probably get it mixed better. Mixing Performance Does nothing you can't do with a spoon. Ease of Cleaning Very easy to clean. Durability I've had mine for years but that's with very little use.

I like the ease of use this hand mixer offers. I live a lone and rarely bake so when I need to mix something fast I pull it out. I also like the size because it does not take up a lot of storage space which what I was looking for. Keep in mind that this is not for heavy duty mixing as it does not have a lot of power behind it. That is the only downfall and sometimes it causes me to have to mix by hand.

I like this appliance for very small mixing jobs.  I use it for instant pudding, beating eggs for pancakes, and other small mixing jobs.  It's great to let my kids use, very light and easy to handle.  They feel very big when they can do the mixing jobs in the kitchen.  I like that it is cordless and can easily be moved from place to place.  The flip feature is cool and makes it comfortable in many different uses. Now for the dislikes.  It is not very powerful at all.  Mine does not hang on  a wall, and does not charge itself.  If I forget to charge it, it won't even do little jobs.  The instructions were not very informative.  I don't know if I should leave it plugged in all the time, or let the battery run all the way down.  I'm just sort of winging it by plugging it in when it seems a little weak.   All in all, its more like a toy than a useful tool.  Its great for getting the kids in the kitchen for quality time and to try to pass on old family recipes.

This mixer attaches to the wall and is charging when not in use. You pull the hand unti out of the wall unit and attach your mixing tool. You just put the attachment needed into the mixer and you can use anywhere.IT has 1 beater, 1 wisk, and 1 drink blender attachement. The only drawback is htat because it is battery powered I need to plug it back it in when doing a big job or if I am using it for long periods (like amking Christmas cookies). Because it is a self contained wall mounted unit it is not taking up valuable drawer or counter space. It is the handiest small appliance that I have.

Wow, this Gizmo is great.   Of course if you are looking for a heavy duty appliance to get tons of baking done you'd best stop reading my review and look for another :)  for what this "Gizmo" is it is spectacular.    It comes with several attachments and is great for quick fixins.   The whipping attachment is great for making meringue and whipped egg whites, the mixing attachment is great for making mixed batters on the fly,  there is a white aerating attachment (not too sure what it is) but it is great for mixing drinks, broths, and yogurt.  I have found this little device to be quite handy in the kitchen, you just fully charge it and hang it on the wall easy to reach for,  great for when you need to use the mixer really quick for something simple.  Rather than reaching for the bigger unit and wrestling with the cord and finding a plug you can just reach for this little guy and take care of your dirty business clean and quickly!   So far I have used it much more often than my bigger unit and I am quite happy with the ease of use and accessibility.   You can also twist the handle to either make it a long straight mixer or kind of like a hand held drill.   Very usefull and cute too!
