Good Wifi Range and Stays Connected

4

We bought the N150 Wireless BELKIN router when we purchased our tablet and smartphones. We only have one desktop computer and I had never needed wifi. So I didn't want to spend a lot of money and purchased this router. It wasn't the cheapest but it was the next one up. I'm not tech savvy so when I set up the BELKIN router I was impressed how easy it was to set up. I added the password to all our tech items that use Wifi without any issues and now my tablet and smartphones are using wifi. The only issue I have noticed is when I leave the wifi area and then it tries to connect again, I end up either resetting the router or I forget the password and have to reset my tech items. I didn't expect this router to go without problems, I didn't pay a lot for it. It serves it's purpose in my home and I'm happy with it for the price. I've never used a router before so I have nothing to compare it to. My oldest child complains a great deal because she's used to faster internet and wifi. She deals with our BELKIN N150 because she doesn't have a choice. Performance I loose connection a lot, and reset password about everyday. Setup & Ease of Use Easy to set up. Service & Support I've never dealt with support.

Belkin F7D5301 IEEE 802.11b/g/n Connect N150 is a waste of money

2

We purchased the Belkin F7D5301 IEEE 802/11b/g/n Connect N150 Wireless Router the other day because our older Belkin Wireless Router had tore up on us & this brand is nothing more than a waste of money and time. To start off with i will tell you the things i do like about it and that is setting it up was very simple and fast and it came already set up to have your wireless connection locked plus has a little card with the password and other wireless router information. Now with things i don't like about it is to get it set up i had to install a program from a disk that came with it,but from that program you can do all sorts of things like troubleshooting, settings, puts a icon on your bottom task bar that lets you know how your connection is etc. Now getting to the part of its job it just don't do the trick. We have had nothing but issues from it loosing connection, giving a pop up saying the password was changed and if you come disconnected from it you have to go through the process of putting in the password again instead of just clicking to connect to it and being done with it. The main bad thing about it is the speed is slow and i do surveys, watch youtube video's and things like that and it will not load them right away and if its a survey that doesn't load it makes me loose it since it didn't load the 1st time. I think if you had a higher speed on this brand Belkin that it would be a really great one to have, but i do not recommend the Belkin F7D5301 IEEE 802/11b/g/n Connect N150 Wireless Router.

Don't let the price fool you, this is no bargain

The Belkin N150 Wireless Router seems like a good buy, but don't let the cheap price fool you: You pay for what you get. This router comes with a wireless key pre built into it, so in order to use it you are supposed to set up special software on each computer that is going to be connected to it. This wouldn't be a problem if the software for it was good, but alas the software has absolutely no options whatsoever in order to edit the router's internal settings. There are no instructions in the box to edit the wireless settings, there is just a slip of paper with 3 pictures on it. In order to find instructions for the thing, you need to go onto the website and google search to find them. Even then, the wireless capabilities of this router are terrible. Basic computers can connect to it fairly well, but when it comes to other things such as Playstation 3, PSP, or other wireless devices, you can never get a truly good connection. PSPs wont even get an IP Address, and PS3 connections often disconnect. My normal PC stays connected most of the time, but does have times when itll just randomly die for no apparent reason. My advice is to go with a different brand alltogether. Avoid.

I didn't know much about routers when we went to pick one out, but this one works great! The guy at walmart explaned the difference between the different routers, and we thought this was the closest to what we needed. We never loose connection, it boots up right away, and even if someone is on the main computer and I'm watching a movie on our laptop, it has no problem keeping up! The price wasn't bad, it wasn't the cheapest one, but it surely wasn't the most expensive router! I stream videos all the time and it hardly ever stopped to "buffer" and only takes a few seconds to boot up in the first place. It's pretty small, so it doesn't take up too much space in our office are, and It was also very easy to set up, my husband (also not computer friendly) hooked it up and got it going in just minutes. Haven't had any problems yet! I would recommend this to all of my friends ( as long as they're not big gamers who need more power!!)

Awful

2

This router is awful. I had to call in for help to install it because the directions were unclear and didn't specify many things that needed to be done in order for it to work. After an hour on the phone with a representative it is finally ready for me to use. After one day, I was unable to connect to the internet. It was automatically disconnected for some reason. I called customer service again, and it required for me to unplug both my modem and router and then connect them again after 30 seconds. I have the product for a few weeks now and have had to unplug both router and modem every day if not twice a day to get the internet working. I also have this router connected to my printer which also took 30 minutes to get hooked up. I am completely annoyed and unhappy with this product and am seriously contemplating going back to the store and purchasing another router of a different brand. I will call customer service again and see what can be done about this first before purchasing another router.

This was my first wireless router purchase and I was pleased

3

I just purchased the Belkin wireless N150 router about a week ago and so far I am pleased with the functionality. The initial set up was a little rough due to the fact that all the computers that we were hooking up through wirelss were a little bit old but after calling the customer support line in India I was pleasantly suprised. Tech support was incredibly helpful in walking me through all the steps necessary to configure the set up. They were able to guide me step by step and tell me exactly what needed to be changed and what codes to use in order for the wireless to function. I also purhcased the wireless network adapter to go with an additional desk top pc and it seems to be working fine. I would recommed that you go with the best rated wireless and adapter if making the purchase. It seems like the more computers you are running off the same service the slower it gets. I am pleased with the fact that I was able to make the purchase at my local retail store and the Belkin products are the least expensive on the market.

Not a money's worth

I got this router primarily because I needed something to create a network for my laptop.I will admit that I made the mistake of not first researching all of the various types of routers. So I will warn that this router does NOT have the QoS (quality of service) feature. This means bandwidth hogs are free to...hog bandwidth.Oh well.My mistake. So as for the router itself,it's an okay product. It hasn't given me any problems but then again it's still new... The configuration was very easy.It has a feature called 'push-button security' which is exactly what it sounds like.It has four ethernet ports. For some reason one of my ethernet cables to my desktop got stuck in there.I spent a good 5 minutes getting it out,so watch out for that. There's really nothing spectacular to say about it honestly.I mean,it has an 'okay' range.I would say "you get what you pay for" but then that wouldn't even apply.I actually didn't get money's worth.I've seen excellent other wireless routers within the same price range and they have QoS to top it off.
