Tom's of Maine Silly Strawberry Toothpaste is fun, and cleans to

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love strawberries, and when i saw that Tom's of Maine were offering a free sample tube of the Children's Aniticavity Fluoride Silly Strawberry Toothpaste, I knew I had to have one.

The box is plain, as with all their products, and has whole strawberries on it. The small tube I have, net weight .87 ounce (24.7g) doesn't have room for them, like the big tube.

I couldn't wait to try it, and thought that it would be a bright pink color. Of course, being a Tom's product, it is free of artificial dyes, so it is 'off white'. It doesn't have a strawberry smell, but it does taste of strawberries.

I loved it so much I didn't want to rinse my teeth. That's how much I love strawberries.

The too...

Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo stops dandruff.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Today I was just about to throw out the empty bottle of Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo, and realized that I hadn't written a review on it.

When I first knew Len he had jet black hair, and still colors it dark brown/black. So when his scalp is itching and he scratches it, it starts to flake. I always keep Head & Shoulders, or Selsun Blue in his bathroom.

Recently he has been trying samples of different Head & Shoulders products, but the faithful Classic Clean is the one he most often uses.

The shampoo looks the palest of blue to me, and has a clean, fresh smell. You would never think of it as a shampoo for dandruff.

It lathers well, and after drying Len's hair, it look...

Tom's of Maine Deodorant worked for me. Natural too.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

Recently I have been looking for more natural health, and beauty products, and if they are not too expensive giving them a try. This is when I bought Tom's of Main Natural Deodorant unscented.

I brought it home, and was pleased that it is a good size, 64g (2.25 ounce). I opened the cap, and saw the pale yellow deodorant. I put it up to my nose, and although it says unscented, I could smell the faintest menthol.

I used the deodorant under my arms, and it did it's job. I rarely sweat even though I live in Florida. I did notice on a day that I was wearing navy, that I had a deodorant mark on it. Shame.

It worked for me, but I didn't give it to Len, as he needs a deodorant like Arrid, ...

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer improves the skin's color

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I do get a great tan living in Florida. We spend a few days at the beach most months, and my color is great, so why would I need a 'self tanning product'?

I get lines of white where my clothing is, and the worst area, is where my 5 gold chains lay around my neck. I never take the chains off, but when they move, I expose a completely white area.

When I received a free sample tube of Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, I immediately knew how I was going to use it. I squeeze a tiny amount out after my shower, and apply it to these areas. I then use my normal moisturizer for the rest of my skin.

I am fairly pleased with the smell, other ones in the past, haven't smelled great.

Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Dandruff Conditioner kept it at bay.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Len has used either a dandruff shampoo, or conditioner for several years. The 2 brands that I buy for him are Head & Shoulders and Selsun Blue.

He had run out of dandruff shampoo, so I checked in my box with dozens of shampoos and conditioners, and found a sachet of Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care Dandruff Conditioner.

It came in a 0.33 fluid ounce (10 ml) sachet. He washed his hair with a good quality shampoo, and then tore off the top of the sachet, and used half off the conditioner. His hair is thinning so that was more than enough to go through it.

He left it on while he showered, and then rinsed it off. He dried his hair, and then combed it. There was no dandruff flakes, which m...

Pantene Fine Hair Flat to Volume Conditioner didn't do it's job.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I was sent a 'goody' bag from Target, and one of the products in it was Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Solutions Flat to Volume Conditioner. Instead of a tiny sachet, the sample was a 50 ml (1.7 ounce) bottle.

It is really neat as it stands on the cap, and has a hole at the other end to hang it up.

I used a Pantene shampoo to get my hair clean, and then opened up the Fine Hair Solutions Conditioner. It has a fresh, feminine fragrance to it. It is thick, and turns clear when you put it in my palms, and rub them together.

I then dabbed it onto my hair, and used my fingers to make sure it went from my head to the ends of my hair. I left it on for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off.

I then...

Halls Mentho Lyptus Honey Lemon Flavored Cough Drops work for me

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Halls Mentho Lyptus Honey Lemon Flavored Cough Drops come in a freshlock bag, and contain 30 drops. They retail for around $2 - $2.99, but I picked mine up for only 99 cents.

The minute the packet is opened you can smell the soothing honey/lemon and menthol. My nose actually started to clear before I even opened one of the cough drops.

They are great for that cough that just won't go away. Just suck on one, and it will stop the cough, and ease the pain in the throat. Unfortunately it only lasts a short period of time. They taste good too.

However, when I go to bed, and have a cold/cough, I will suck one prior to sleeping, and often it will get me through the night. If Len has a s...

Tone soap bar is an okay soap. Can't compare with other brands.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

CVS had a 2 pack of Tone Cocoa Butter in Mango Splash on sale at $1.88, with a dollar back in register rewards. For 44 cents a bar, I figured I would give it a try.

The outer wrapper looks pretty, but once you open it up, the soaps are in plain boxes with Tone on the sides, and a number on the top. The net weight of each one is 4.25 ounce (120 g).

I opened one up and the soap is a pastel pink, with Tone edged in it.

I washed my hands, and it lathered well. The smell was okay, but I didn't notice that is was like a mango.

My hands felt clean, but didn't have that hydrated/moisturized feel, that I get with Dove, or Yardley of London.

This will be fine for my downstairs utility room. W...

Gain Apple Berry Twist dishwashing liquid makes you want fruit.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

When it comes to dish detergent, I am always looking for a bargain, and I found one at CVS. They had Gain Dishwashing Liquid, apple berry twist scent for $1, and I had a 50 cent coupon off of it.

I like Gain laundry detergent, so picked up a bottle. The size is 266 ml (9 fl. oz.) The color of the liquid is red.

Upon squirting the liquid in the bowl of hot water, I could smell the fruit scent. It almost smelled good enough to eat.

I continued adding water, and there were lots of suds. I used the water to wash all my dishes, and then some of the pans. It struggled towards the end, but certainly did a good job. It works slightly better than store brands, but probably not quite as good...

Ricola Dual Action Drops cherry flavor worked great on my cough.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Ricola is a product that I trust for soothing sore throats. I saw that they had a Dual Action one in the flavor of cherry, and figured I would buy it, as it was on sale for 99 cents.

Upon opening the bright red, white, and black packet, I thought how unique the cough drops are. They are in individual packets, that are sealed at each end. They have the same bright colors on them. They are easy to tear, so the cough drop comes out.

The color is more of a dark pink/purple than cherry. However, the flavor is good. It tastes fruity, and natural.

These drops are for 'Soothing cough & throat relief', and this is what they do. Once you suck through the outer part of the drop, a liquid com...

Dickinson's Witch Hazel Astringent has many uses that work.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Growing up in England we were extremely poor. My mother would stretch her money by buying cheap products, that had many uses. One of these was witch hazel. It didn't matter if we were sunburned, got bitten, or stung, she would get out the witch hazel. It had a strong smell, but we got used to it.

So onto today, and isn't it great to have Dickinson's Witch Hazel, that doesn't have that smell. A great product that I can enjoy using. It states on the big, 16 fluid ounce (473 ml) bottle, that it is for 'oily, irritated, red, damaged, blemished, or inflamed skin'

I have a bottle in the house, and use it for cleaning my face, as well as redness from the Florida sun. If I don't have anythi...

Lady's Choice Antiperspirant & Deodorant kept me dry and fresh.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I picked up a Lady's Choice Antiperspirant & Deodorant recently for 99 cents instead of $1.99. I saw on the label that it was an invisible solid, and thought, "That's the kind I like".

It is a pretty deep shade of pink, with a lighter pink pull off cap. The fragrance is 'Shower Fresh', and it does have a clean, crisp scent to it.

Upon turning the wheel at the bottom of the deodorant, the white solid comes up. Just rub it under the arms, and you really feel fresh.

It truly is an invisible solid, as I have used it when wearing black, and I haven't had any white streaks.

I stay fresh all day long when using it. It is one of the smaller deodorants as it has a net weight of 1.4 ounce (40g...

Halls Sugar Free Honey-Lemon Drops taste as good as regular ones

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Even though we live in Florida, we still get coughs and colds, in the winter months. I normally will buy a brand name product on sale, or go for a generic to save money.

However, recently I was able to buy Halls Sugar Free Honey-Lemon Drops for Len, as he is diabetic, for 99 cents. What a bargain. I normally have to pay twice as much for a sugar free product. I did notice that there are 25 drops, compared to 30 in a regular packet of cough drops.

I had to try one, as I hate the aftertaste of artificial sweeteners, but found that these really didn't have one. All I could taste was the honey, lemon, and the menthol. They immediately cleared my nose, and shortly after soothed the back o...

Major Low Strength 81 mg Aspirin keep heart attacks at bay.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Len has had several heart attacks, quintuple bypass surgery, and 5 stents, so he is on warfarin, and a low strength aspirin every day. Together these keep his blood thin, and helps prevent further heart attacks.

Major brand of low strength 81 mg aspirin are enteric coated. They are a tiny, round, yellow pill, with a heart shape on it. They come in a child proof bottle for safety reasons.

As well as using them as a 'heart healthy' product, you can also take them for minor aches, and pains. They are really inexpensive, and there are 120 tablets in the bottle. They have a good shelf life too.

There are several warning on the bottle, so please read them before taking this product.

Major Glucosamine & Chondroitin Double Strength Caplets help.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

For years Len was taking Glucosamine & Chondroitin tablets to help with his joints. Being 78 is no fun. Then his H.M.O. stopped sending them free of charge, and he didn't take them.

He has had more aches and pains, and difficulty with his hips, so I ordered Major Glucosamine & Chondroitin Double Strength Caplets through his over the counter drug benefit.

He has been back taking them for a couple of months now. The Major brand ones are about three quarters of an inch long, and a quarter of an inch wide. They have a cut line down the middle for anyone having difficulty in swallowing a pill.

The color is off-white, and they look speckled like a bird's egg.

Len takes them morning and ni...
