The Zalman Notebook cooler is the best combination for laptops since its cooling is beyond great. The fan is very quiet and very effective. Laptops heat up very fast and this cooler can solve that problem in no time. The notebook cooler connects to the laptop through a usb cable and stays running as long as your laptop is on. You can also adjust the cooling power of the fan which makes it even better. The notebook cooler does take up space especially if you move your laptop from place to place so its best used if you keep your laptop in one specific spot. The only hassle about this notebook cooler is dusting out the fans because you can't 'take apart' the fan. You would need dust blowers to clean it but overall, it is a great cooler. I've been using mine for over four years and it's still running great!

The Zalman Cooler ZM-NC1000 is a great tool for any laptop. It is powered on USB and it is really efficient on cooling. The pros about this cooler is that it has 2 USB slots on it so that you don't end up losing any USB slots when using the cooler. It is also powered on USB so there isn't that many additional wires to deal with. There is also a fan speed controller to allow you to change the speed of the fans according to how much cooling you need. The cons about this cooler is that it is somewhat loud when you turn the cooler to max speed. It also gets a little dusty but I'm sure all coolers get dusty and you just need to clean it from time to time. It's also a little big so users with very small laptops or netbooks may not like this feature. It is also a little pricey but it is defintiely worth it. I had this cooler for about 8 years now and it has kept my laptop nice and cool. The investment is definitely worth it as it protects your laptop from overheating.

I have a Dell XPS M1530, 2 years old now, and it is known for having issues with its video card getting extremely hot and eventually breaking.  So, I bought the NC-1000.  Zalman is a brand that is already known for its cooling within the computer component world, and they make high quality fans.  This cooler is also of very high quality.  The cost is a bit high, but I would say it is a deal for what you get compared to the competitors.   The entire body is thick aluminum, so it feels sturdier than your laptop.  The bottom part is fairly sturdy plastic.  There is an extra USB port, so you don't lose any USB connection by having this attached to your laptop, I usually put my mouse there.  The placement of the holes is best for me, as it covers the front 4/5 of the laptop.  This is good because some coolers only cool the back, but the problem is the palm rest can get VERY hot on most laptops (usually this is the hard drive).  So it keeps it very cool compared to no-cooler.   There is good fan adjustment, although I have to say the fans arent as quiet as I thought they would be.  They certainly overtake my laptop's fans.  But they are not noticeable unless you are in a whisper quiet room.
