Task Force 2000 PSI Electric Pressure Washer is a good value

01/08/10 - Update On January 6, 2010 I received two emails from a TaskForce Customer Service Represetative. One for this review and one for my review of their similar 1600 PSI model. This included an apology for my issues and an invitation to contact them to resolve these. So I called the toll-free number and was very happy at the courteous attitude welcoming my input into improving their design. So I provided this basically stating that in my opinion the change which would have the greatest impact would be to have a quick disconnect hose like on the 1600 PSI model (see comments below). The CSR was going to forward my comments to her manager and took down my name and phone number. I don't know what will come of it but I feel confident that they are interested in what their customers want, and not just in selling you what they make. 11/25/09 - Original Comments I live in a townhome so I didn't want a gas model with higher maintenance and lots of pressure. I did want something that was easy to use. I'm big on things that are user friendly, intuitive in the way they function (ie exceptional overall design), and low maintenance (ie operational requirements). I had purchased a 1600 PSI version of this model, but felt it had insufficient power. (see my review for that) My comments below: Test - Fence Positives: Tried it first on my plastic fencing. Easy to use. Like the dual-detergent tank. Can leave a general purpose cleaner in one, and an auto cleaner in the second. Don't have to worry about cross-contamination. Pressure is awesome! Cleaned my fence like nobody's business. Even old stains came off and it looked white like new. Cleaned green mold from inside bricks. It even trimmed grass from around edge of brick patio! Negatives: The biggest negative is that they changed the hose from a loose disconnect, to a coiling fixed connection. The hose never completely unkinked. This prevented achieving full extension of the hose. Also, this actually made the unit tip over more than the 1600 PSI model. This is because they are rear weight biased. This is a real pain. Conclusion: This model with a loose hose and a quick disconnect would be close to perfect. Fixing the balance of the unit would make it absolutely perfect. I have very high standards for any product I buy. If I can't give it 5 stars, most likely I'll return it.
