As with most things I own from Smith & Hawken, I got these boots on sale. Most things at S&H are great quality, but the price often keeps me from discovering if they're cost effective.  I waited for these to go on sale, and now I wish I had bought them sooner. I have already gotten three times use out of these than I expect from boots costing half as much, with extra comfort and warmth (boot is primarily made from neoprene) on top of that. Only caveat is that these really are gardening boots. I wouldn't wear them in many situations where you expect to see tall waterproof boots- i.e. in a barnyard or working with concrete. If you are looking for boots in this genre, cough it up and get the good stuff. In this case your feet, and eventually your wallet, will thank you.
