great leash

I have to say when I see this I fell in love with it. My dog will only use the bathroom in the woods beside my house. For my protection, I would always bring a flash light and a phone. I liked being on the phone when I was walking at night in the woods incase something went wrong but it was hard to hold the phone, flashlight, and the leash all at the same time. Now I can talk on the phone and not have to worry about a flashlight. I have no use for the bags but that's okay. I might go somewhere sometime where I might need them. I would recommend this item to anyone who has to walk their dog at night.

Pet's Pad Leash. Great idea but bad execution.

I'm an avid dog walker who is respectful of people's front lawns so I pick up after my pet when necessary.  Therefore, I always carry two to three plastic grocery bags with me when I take my dog for a walk.  So when my sister-in-law gave me the **Pet's Pad Retractable Pet Leash with Flashlight and Bag Holder**, I was thrilled that it contained a compartment to hold plastic bags.  I also liked that it had a removable flashlight, as I walk my dog mostly in the evenings after my kids are in bed.  I don't like to admit this but sometimes I miss a pick up spot because I can't see it, so a flashlight definitely would come in handy.  The novelty of having a retractable dog leash that features a removable flashlight and a bag compartment wore off pretty quickly after my first use.  The plastic holder is made of cheap plastic and I worried that it would break when I dropped it (occasionally, my dog pulls hard enough to cause me to drop the leash handle).  As for the plastic bag compartment, it only holds one grocery bag and it is a very tight fit.  So I still needed to carry at least one more bag with me.  Strike one. Trying to stay positive and still wanting to like this retractable leash that has all of the bells and whistles, I proceeded to use it on my nightly walks.  The first time that I needed to use the flashlight?  It didn't work.  I don't think that the batteries were tight enough to make a connection as the flashlight would only occasionally work, and that was when I shook it or played around with it at home (when I didn't need it).  It didn't really matter that the flashlight was only working in spurts because my son dropped the leash soon after I got it and the flashlight broke into pieces.  Strike two. The worst thing about the **Pet's Pad Retractable Pet Leash with Flashlight and Bag Holder** is that the finger trigger that I used to allow the leash to extend and retract was causing my finger to hurt from constant use.  My dog likes to run and stop often and the leash will only extend and retract when the trigger is pulled.  Therefore, my finger was always on the trigger.  I finally gave up on this leash and went back to using the [Flexi Retractable Leash][1] .  Strike three. The **Pet's Pad Retractable Pet Leash with Flashlight and Bag Holder** is a great idea but it is badly executed.  I do not recommend it.            [1]: http://www.viewpoints.com/Flexi-2-8-Retractable-Leash-review-441412
