Pros: I did like the fact that there were set ups for so many different types of projects, including iron-ons. The program's installation CD was easy to understand and to navigate through the steps of creating a project. More fonts than Calendar Creator Deluxe. All the images are on the CDs, so you don't have to go online like with Broderbund. It was easy to upload my photos and other art work onto a docoument. Cons: I couldn't find a way to make a customized calendar with 3-4 weeks at a time that wasn't tied to a specific month. My schedule runs in 4 week blocks that don't conform to months, so this was a disappointment. THe artwork is nice, but a lot of it is already in the public domain, not orginal.

Overall, it's got a lot of good features, but the interface is kind of clunky and the search function for graphics is virtually useless. The base installation is okay, but since a lot of extra stuff comes on the other bonus discs, you'd think there'd be some explanation on how to install and use those...but there isn't, so apparently you're just supposed to figure that out yourself. Given how long the software's been around (this is the 23rd edition, after all), there's really no excuse for any of its bugs, limited features, and relatively limited amount of clip art. All in all it feels like an overpriced toy rather than a serious piece of software, especially since I think I could do much the same things with free software and Google searches or stock-art galleries, and I know I could do better with, say, Microsoft Publisher--which costs about a hundred bucks more, but at least you'd be spending your money on something that actually works well.

Print Artist Platinum 23 is a great software program for anyone who's interested in creating their own projects but doesn't know where to start or how to design. There are over 25,000 professional templates, 375,000 graphics, and 1,000 premium fonts. The program comes with 300 page user manual so you're not lost if you need help with any features of the program and 2 bonus graphics DVD's. One of my favorite features of this program is how professional all of the templates look. But if you're interested in trying out your own designs, you can start from scratch. There's also a tutorial to teach you everything you need to know. You can save your projects as PDF or JPEG files, which I personally love. PDF is preferred by some when creating newsletters, resumes, and more, and now you can create them easily with Print Artist. Burn a CD photo slideshow to share with friends and family on a TV. This program really does it all.
