great mouse, excellent tracking and good feel

5

I bought this mouse to replace basically a really old microsoft mouse blue. Its really my first wireless mouse and i'm quite satisfied with it. At first I thought i would not like the added heft of a mouse with a battery inside it, but I suppose this one just really isnt too bad at all. especially given it has 2 batteries (some mice have only 1 now). That said i prefer it with 2 batteries as they tend to last longer and give better range. Anyway i like this mouse because the blue trak technology makes it track very well on almost anything. some might not like the "smooth" scroll wheel vs the clicky notched ones in previous microsoft mice (i know some logitech ones have a switch to toggle that ) but i have gotten used to it and honestly prefer it now. another thing i particularly like about this mouse is given that most higher end mice are curved for right hands and i don't really like that that this is probably one of the better mice that isnt curved. obviously if you are left handed this migh tbe something for you to look at. one thing that has a wierd benefit is that it has a glossy finish on the clicking buttons. you'd think it was purely cosmetic but you will notice that dirt builds up on those buttons on most mice and its impossible to remove. on a glossy finish mouse it just wipes off, so that is sort of an added bonus as your mouse won't look permanently dirty.

Most Comfortable Wireless Mouse Available

5

For months, I have trying to find a good mouse, which by my standards, include: designed for large hands, wireless, smooth scrolling, and customizable buttons. The Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 offers all that and more for a great price. To begin with, this mouse has really smooth scrolling. I cannot stop using the scroll wheel because I have never been able to scroll this smoothly before. Second, this mouse, although will probably feel comfortable for just about anyone, thanks to its size, feels comfortable for me since I have large hands. The rubber grips on the sides is also a plus. Third, this mouse is very customizable thanks to the IntelliPoint software included with this mouse. Overall, this mouse is definitely worth buying.

Best Wireless Mouse I've Used

5

I've used several wireless mice in the past, and this model (Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000) seems to be the best so far. It uses bluetooth technology, so there are no wires to deal with. It is comfortable for use in either hand (I use it with my left hand, and it's still comfortable). It's reliable and always works, except when there is crud blocking the optical sensor. The only downfall I see is that you will need to replace the batteries every 3 or so months (2 AA) as there is no way to turn it off. All in all it's a great mouse, inexpensive and works great!

Great everyday mouse with no big downfall

This mouse came in a package deal with my wireless keyboard. I have been using this mouse for over 2 years with no major problems. I use it on a gaming Rat Padz mouse pad and it tracks perfectly. Since this is my first wireless mouse, it's impossible for me to compare it to others, but in my opinion, the battery life is slightly lacking. I use Eneloop rechargeables, and it seems every 4 months or so (I have no idea if this is good or bad), the batteries need changing, while I've never had to change the batteries in my keyboard since I put the ones that came with the keyboard in. The mouse fits very well in my hand and is smooth. The only complaint I have about this mouse, is the tracking wheel. It's hard to push it straight in, because it not only rolls forward and back like a normal tracking wheel, but it also tilts left to right, which makes this hard to use for web browsing and opening tabs in firefox. I easily fixed this by switching the middle click with the thumb button. The coloring is slowly fading from the constant use of 2 years, but I don't mind as the buttons are still smooth and work perfectly. I would buy this mouse again if I needed a new one.

Bluetrack Mouse Is Good, Meh Battery Life

4

In my search for a good wireless mouse I have come by this product the Microsoft Bluetrack Wireless Mouse, I will admit that this a very good mouse.  Even though they advertise this mouse as being very versatile with the different types of surfaces you can use this on I can not comment on it myself personally because I only use it with my mouse pad.  One of the things in particular I like about this mouse that for some reason or another you just do not see in mouses very often these days is the inclusion of a backwards and forwards button.  What this does is it makes it to where you can use the mouse while you are in a web browser and with a click of a button you can go back to the page you were just on, and if you want to go back to the page you were on before you hit back you can use the forwards button.  The only main complaint I have about this product is that the battery life for this is very sub par.  It is not great, but it is not bad.  I usually have to charge my mouse about once a week to make sure that I have enough juice to be able to use it consistently.  Overall this is a good product.

A Great Wireless Mouse

4

I was originally worried about the quality of this mouse because I had bought another mouse from Microsoft and it didn't work at all. However, I really like the Bluetrack 5000 because it has a good battery life. Sometimes I would forget to take out the USB, but the batteries would still last me for weeks. The only thing is that it's difficult to insert the USB back into the mouse after use sometimes and you have to make sure it fits just right or else it will still be on, but you can easily tell this because the blue light will still be on. Another thing is that the usb won't fit right into the mouse, so it won't stay flat after you put it in. It fits nicely into my hand and the scroll doesn't make a lot of noise like other wireless mouses. The non-plastic material around the area where you grip is comfortable, but it's just that it's the kind that attracts dust. I haven't really tried the mouse in other areas besides a mousepad, but it supposedly works great on other surfaces too.

The Laser Mouse has sufficient accuracy and portability.

4

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 is easy to use and works well.  The set-up process might be challenging for some, but if you've used the technology before, it'll be easy enough.  The wheel and additional buttons are a bonus, but the mouse does lack some of the added versatility of, say, a mouse that can be switched to presentation mode.  If you only need a standard PC mouse to make life easier on your laptop, this is an excellent choice.

Best mouse ever personally used

Very nice mouse with features aplenty... Wonderfully adorned with both vertical and side scrolling options, as well as, a clickable scroll wheel.  In addition it has nice ergonomic shape that fits perfectly in the hand and puts a button at both the user's thumb and ring fingers.
