We purchased this Hitachi in 2003. From the very first day of operation, it was performed very well. It is a high definition set. The quality of this set far surpasses the expectations we had when purchasing this television. We have had only one issue with it in the time we have had it. One day, it got green wavy lines and just quit working. We called a television repair service without much hope that it could be repaired, but he was able to restore it. Even after all these years, the television is still a good one. The plasma we have has better color and reception but that is to be expected with the way technology improves on almost a daily basis. I have no idea how long this television will continue to work but it is apparent that we have gotten our money's worth even if it quit today. With the short life span of many electronics on the market today, it is great that this set continues to operate. I highly recommend Hitachi as being a great television.
