The current scent on the market is a Violet Splash fragrance. I only give it a four star rating, because it is a pump and not an aerosoles spray, which is what I was looking for. It is an 8 fl. oz. container, and the smell is pleasant and not strong. I am a person who wants my products to awaken my senses. If you need a maximum hold, I would suggest looking into more of their product line and try a gel before. I do not like mousse, it flattens my straight, long hair and I feel it gets a greasy look. The pumps though, do hold better than aerosoles. I do not have current suggestions, as I have older products. I have been using Clairol Herbal Essences Products, under Proctor and Gamble, for as long as I can remember. So of course I would recommend it in general. Maybe, it is the constant sales, maybe finding the constant paper coupons, and it is possible their advertising has influenced my purchasing it, and of course the fragrance choices. To get the lift I want, I take one or more of those hair clips with teeth or claws that press open. I take the section of hair I want, close the clip on it to hold up and away from the head. Then, I blow it dry. And, then, I spray it. An alternate method was described and demonstrated by a hair stylist. She would spray the hair, then tease it between her fingers, back and forth. This causes less damage than using another hair appliance or comb. If this does not seem like the product for you, check on-line for your preference, to find what you will be looking for at the store. Their line changes scents. Another use, in how to use hairspray is in the application of washing clothes. Hairspray, especially if applied immediately on a stained clothing item, will fix the stain. That means, it will not spread the stain, or let it set in further before you can try and get it out. The best means is to blot and not scrub. I recently went from long hair to short hair and my natural curl came out with a vengeance. Without product my hair tends to be super curly and frizzy, which leaves my style very unattractive. I started with a little mouse and this spray to finish it off and it's the best combo for my hair to set my curls for the day. What I found works best is straight from the shower just hand squeeze most of the water out. Then with mouse work that throughout and towel scrunch the curls to get most of the water out and to set the curls up. Once I get the desired amount of curl I spray this on and let my hair air dry. I love the way the spray smells to, but it's not too over powering or too product spelling.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Flexible Style Hairspray is the only hairspray that I use. Most hairsprays cause your hair to give off that 1980's helmet head look, but not this one. I love it and the way it makes my hair smell. It is advertised to smell like violets. Whatever it is, it's great ! I like this because it has a really loose hold to it. It says flexible and it is. I bought this and used it for the first time to hold a pretty bun that I did for a wedding in place. I wanted the hold so my hair would stay in place, but I also wanted to be able to get it out of my hair without using a clarifying shampoo. It worked. I've used and liked it ever since. For me, the ideal hair products not only do what they advertise, but smell good too. This has the total package because it is also cheap. All kinds of sales are advertised for Herbal Essences, and the coupons are plentiful. I recommend this.

When my sister first suggested this product to me, I was extremely hesitant and I did not think that I would like it as much as I do! I have fine hair and I really do not like to put any product in my hair for everyday use, especially not hairspray since it just makes it hard and crunchy!  However, the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Flexible Hairspray really is flexible and your hair stays soft.  I can run my fingers through my hair all day and it retains its overall shape quite well.  It also helps in eliminating fly-aways, which I get often.  I use this product everyday when my hair is still damp and I have gone out in all types of weather and it still holds (even in high winds and high temperatures!).  I definitely recommend this product for people with the same type of hair as mine, fine-to-medium straight hair.  I never leave the house without using this product and to top it all off, it is non-aersol, better for the environment!

No cons here. This hairspray is pretty amazing. I'd like to note that I have no idea what "hairspray fixatif" means at all, and that was a little deterring when I was looking at it on the shelf at the store. I bought this with the same line of Toule Me Softly shampoo, thinking it would make a difference.  This hairspray is so good, it can be a standalone. It works just as well as when I use regular old Suave shampoo with it.  The neat part about this hairspray is the fact that it really does great work on tousled hairstyles. I have a very unkempt, messy looking hairstyle, and I'd like it to not look like I took great pains to get it that way. This does the trick every time.   The hold level on this is a 2, which feels about right. The hairspray will last a good 4-5 hours, but if you rub your hair a lot, like my guy friends tend to do, it might last a little less as long. Thankfully, there are no white flakes.
