Thank goodness for Black Friday. I got this about a year ago for half the price. I like that it comes with everything you need to be able to capture your favorite shows. The best, is that you can capture over the air television in HD quality. You can also capture your shows from a composite cable (Red, Yellow and White) onto your computer. The software that comes included with is is good for the most part, but it does not record from the composite cables. I had to find another program to be able to do that. Overall, I would recommend it because it is of good quality, has a decent program, and you are able to record your favorite shows all from your computer. If you want to record more programs, you have to buy a better antenna that can reach greater distances because the one that's included, only picks up about 10 in my area (I guess it depends on the area and how far you're located from the tv signal towers).

I have owned this Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950Q TV tuner for more than two years. I purchased this tuner not only to make my laptop become the TV but also to use it as my TV programs' recorder. It is fully compatible with all Windows operation systems including XP, Vista, and 7. The TV tuner comes with an antenna and a remote control which is working very well with the coming WinTV software. You don't have to buy them any more. When I firstly used the tuner, my laptop only has 2GB memory and the tuner program will take a lot of memories so that my other software cannot work very well in the meantime. Then I upgrade the memory of my laptop to 8GB. After that the WinTV works like a charm and I can do something esle while I watch the nice TV programs. Its recording function works ver well too, which enables me to record my favourate TV program automatically when I'm not at home. But it also has some cons: sometimes the software will suddenly stop working and I have to restart it. Hope the company will improve their software.
