Poorly assembled

This would have to be the most uncomfortable elliptical machine that I have ever used or purchased.  I shopped around for this machine and I had great hopes for its ability to get me going and to set me on a road to a healthy endeavor.  Where do I start to describe this horrible machine.  One of the most agrivating things is that once you are getting what one would think is a good work out, the machine starts to get very hot and it makes this loud sounding noise as if the machine is about to fall apart.  The actual design of the battery compartment is one of the most poorly design things that I have ever experienced.  When you change the batterries which is more often than not, the cover is so difficult to put back into place.  After several attempts to change the batteries, the cover finally breaks and I now have to tape the cover on which is so inconvenient.  The one good thing that this machine delivers on is a good work out and it also have different levels according to what level one have reached.  I will not highly recommend this product soley on the fact that it is poorly designed.

Gold's Gym Power Spin 210 U: Great Value!

5

For Mother's Day, I was the lucky recipient of a Gold's Gym Power Spin 210 U stationary bicycle. Now, before anyone cyber-skewers my husband, I *asked* for a stationary bicycle. It was NOT my hubby's way of saying, "Hey, remember when you used to be hot? Hop to it." OK, I love and I hate this thing. I put it together myself, mostly because my husband refuses to read directions and I didn't have time to let him try for an hour or two and then fix it. I was kind of on a schedule. So, I put it together in about an hour. The parts were kind of bulky, and some were downright heavy, but that's totally OK by me. The hubby said that he wanted the most sturdy, durable bicycle for his money. And that's a good thing. All the pieces fit together, no extra parts, and even the onboard computer was easy to install. By the way, that computer rocks. It has 8 different pre-programmed workout options and then beeps at you to let you know when the change is coming. It also has a speaker to connect your MP3 player to. I haven't used that yet, since my iPhone has an internal speaker. There's also a fan on it, and phew! Let me tell you, that is a nice addition. There's also a shelf on the computer console for you to put your MP3 player, or book, magazine, whatever. I don't find the seat to be terribly uncomforable. It's nice and wide. It could be more cushioned, but I suppose I can get a gel cover for it if I want to. Not really a big deal. I also like that it is magnetic, so there aren't really any parts exposed that my kids can poke their fingers in and get hurt. It can actually safely reside in our den, near the TV, of course. I hate this thing because it's challenging and it kicks my butt everytime I get on it.

Great "first timers" bike

We got this one Christmas because I wanted something a little more low key then our eliptical. It was a good price and has a lot of the functions I wanted. I LOVE that it has an MP3 jack that I can hook my Ipod up too without much hassle. The fan feature is weak, but it's better then nothing. The different "tracks" that come preprogrammed are great for me. There is enough variety in them to keep me working but you can pick what level you really want to be at that day. There is also an manual feature where you can just adjust your tension and ride without much effort. One annoying thing is that it beeps at you when you get off to remind you you've stopped. That I found wasn't good when it would go off while the baby was still napping, but I think most bikes have a feature like that.

The Golds Gym Power Spin 210U needs adjustable pedals

4

We purchased  the bike for my Autistic son, to help with is sensory and focusing issues, and he is a pretty tall boy and his feet don't reach the pedals.  I use it myself, and love it.  I love the fact that there is a fan built in, it can be moved around easily, and it ets you know exactly how far you have gone, how long you have been riding, and most important, how many calories you have burned.  The cup holder is a very nice feature, as well.  My son is 8 years old, and very tall for his age, and I am very surprised that he cant reach the pedals.  We have everything lowered  as low as it will go, and he still cannot reach the pedals.  For myself, I like that I can control the resistance, and control the pace.  We haven't tried out the MP3 player feature yet, because we don't have one, but that is a realy neat feature as well.  All in all, it a very nice bike, it just doesn't serve the purpose that we purchased it for.  I wold reccommend it to anyone that wants o start a cycling fitness program at home.

Awesome bike, HORRIBLE seat!

3

This is the perfect bike with all the basic functions you might need.  We were so excited when we bought this and my husband put it together.  It was an awesome price and looked like the best value we could get on a new bike.  And it was - EXCEPT for the SEAT.  THIS SEAT IS AWEFUL.  IT SUCKS SO BAD THAT WE CAN'T EVEN RIDE THIS BIKE AT ALL.  If it weren't for the seat, I'd give this bike 5 stars hands down!  We've been meaning to search for an alternative seat online, but when we first looked we realized the attachment is not compatable with most seats out there.  So my advice is this - if you can find an alternative for a seat before hand (that works with this bike) and that additional purchase fits within your bike budget, then this bike is a great purchase.  We just can't believe they would make a seat this bad.  We just don't dare to ride this any more cause it makes our butts and thighs hurt all day long after being on that dumb seat.

good value for the money

I bought this Gold's Gym Power Spin 210 U stationary bike almost three years ago when I got pregnant and I wanted to do some exercise during my pregnancy. And I have been using it almost every day since then. I was very interested in tha heart rate monitor since you must be careful exercising while pregnant because if you overdue it, your baby might be oxygen deprived. These days, since I don't have a very big weight problem, I mainly use it as a mean to maintain my actual weight and stay in shape as I grow older. The preset exercise routines are great and you also can exercise any way you want, on your own pace. Don't trust too much the "lost calories" feature because I think the way we burn calories while we exercise it is a personal "attribute". At one point in time the byke became very noisy so my husband had to take it a part and lube every bearing and bolt. After that, it was again the super quiet exercise byke I always had. The seat is uncomfortable if you exercise more then 30 minutes a day like I do, but you can ease the 'suffering" by adding an extra cousing on the seat. Cosnsidering the price I paid for it, I think it is a great exercise byke since I can't afford a sophisticated expensive machine.

Great Quality!

The 210U was simple to put together.  Took about 40 minutes.  All parts fit as described. The bike is super quite. You can watch tv without cranking the volume up.  So far the quality has been great.  No rattles/squeaks.   The workouts that are preprogramed are good. My only issue is the seat gets very uncomfortable after about 20 minutes.  All in all for the price this bike is exactly what i was looking for.  I will get a gel pad for the seat though.

An awesome alternative when you can't get outside to ride!

I have had the Gold's Gym Power Spin 210 U for a few years and really enjoy it. This stationary bike has a lot of features for the price. It has eight preset workouts-and they are awesome! They automatically adjust the resistance and gives you a warning to let you know when it is going to change the resistance. It has a speaker for your mp3 player. Not one of the best features, but works well enough. It has a three speed fan-low, high and then it has a setting that the speed of the fan goes as fast as you pedal so you are in control of how high the fan speed goes. The display is a great motivator. It displays the minutes, calories and distance. It has numerous digital resistance settings to make your workout a challenge. You get a great lower body workout with this stationary bike and it is a good form of cardio. It also has a 'book rack' above the digital readout panel and it also has a bottle holder. The only two things I can think of that would improve this bike is if it had the moveable arms to get an arm workout at the same time and if it folded up. It doesn't really take up a lot of room, but if it folded up, it would be better.
