I really miss freshdirect.com while living in New York. It was very convenient for me because I worked so much at the time. I could order all kinds of food and have it delivered to my door step on my time. It was so great. I would always order kosher meats and organic produce. Each time I received my order, I was well satisfied. The food was so delicious and fresh. It was very simple to order and I didn't have to wait in line or deal with bad attitudes because all I had to do was order from my computer. Check out was quick and the delivery fee is very reasonable. Customer service was always polite and replaced items that were missing immediately. It only happened once and I was treated very good. Not only did freshdirect.com deliver the missing items, they also gave me a coupon code discount for my next order. If I lived within one of their delivery areas again, I would definitely order from freshdirect.com.

Overall I would say I love freshdirect. I have the app on my iphone and my ipad and I use the website as well. I am also signed up for emails. You really need to know your prices when using this. Some of the produce can be overpriced in my opinion; however, they also have great discounts and deals. They do have their own items such as freshdirect hummus, etc that are reasonably priced and sometimes even cheaper than a brand name you might find at a store (for example: hummus is 1.99 for 8 oz). They also have presidents picks, which are the sale items of the week. In addition, I receive emails about once a week letting me know if there are any promotions at that time. I often get free shipping with these emails. The website is also extremely easy to navigate and has large selections. I was originally concerned that I might be upset with the quality since I was not picking items myself; however, the produce and meat have always been amazing. Customer service is also great. They are always fast to answer the phone and they really do have a customer is always right mentality. A few times things have spilled (berries) or broken (eggs) and they have always credited me the price of the item and thrown in a little something extra for the troubles of having to call. To top it all off, the men and women who deliver my food are always very nice as well. They will unload the boxes wherever you want. Although it is not required, you really should tip. Product Pricing You really need to monitor this on your own. Some prices are better than competitors and some are not. In addition, they do have difference price points for different areas. Also, a lesson I learned (which they adjusted for me the first time I found out) is that sale prices change Thursday early in the morning if I recall correctly. Basically, do not let items sit in your basket for too long or the prices can change. Also, if you go in and adjust your order after it has been placed and after prices have changed online, the system will adjust all the prices in your cart! Shipping and Returns Shipping is always in the time frame I select. Once they needed to cancel due to weather and I received an email and a call with the option to reschedule or cancel. Obviously you do not really return, but if something is wrong with the food they sent you, they just credit your account and usually throw in a little extra for your trouble.

I have been an off and on user of FreshDirect for a little over a year. I first got turned on to it via a coupon for $25 off an order and free delivery. After that, I was able to sign up for a few months of free delivery (or for $.02). What I like about it is the extreme convenience. I'm a busy working parent with a child that is involved in many sports. That leaves me little time to get a large scale shopping visit in during the week or even on the weekend. Fresh Direct really helps with that - I'm able to "do my food shopping" from the convenience of my desk (or bed) and know that it will be delivered to me when I need it. I have always received my orders on time (you can choose which two hour slot you want the delivery) and fully correct. The food has been good. Many products are the exact price I find them in the store, some are a bit higher (but I find the convenience makes it worth it). My only issue has been with the bananas as they come refrigerated and I don't really like the consistency after that. I think the website does a very good job of giving you information you need (nutrition, portion size, how long it will be fresh,etc). I always use them when I get a free shipping code (which is fairly frequently). All in all, I really like the service.
