Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera Review Summary

The Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera is "great for young photographers." It is durable and can really take a beating from young users. This camera is so simple to use that preschoolers get the idea quickly and can use it to take picture in moments. The digital camera can hold up to 150 pictures in its internal memory. For the most part, the Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera is a great buy for kids. It isn't perfect though. The pictures come out grainy, the flash is overpowering at times and it is a little pricey for a kid's toy. That being said, the Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera makes a great gift and is a toy that will last a long time.

Fisher-Price Kid Tough digital camera

My son just received an early birthday present for his fifth birthday.  I am telling you the Fisher-Price Kid Tough digital camera is going to be tough to top in the gift department.  He loves it.

We recently purchased the Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera, and were so excited about it.  We had researched the product quite a bit before purchasing it, and read review after review full of glowing praise.   However, from the very first time our 4 year old started using it, we began experience...

My oldest son received this camera for Christmas from Grammy & Granddaddy when he was 3 1/2.  He was already taking pictures with my regular digital camera so it took less then 2 minutes for him to figure this one out.  It took longer to put in the batteries then it took him to start taking pictures.

Pros

  1. Extremely Durable- the camera is made of high-impact rubber.  This thing literally bounces when it's dropped.  Ours has been thrown down stairs, dropped onto concrete, and thrown against a wall and still works as good as it did on the first day.
  2. Two ways to see the picture your taking - Like...

We bought my son this camera for Christmas because he loves playing with mine.  It wasn't really all that great, it's holding up pretty nicely, and wasn't to expensive, but the picture quality is really bad.  The screen is dark and its har to focus on what you are trying to take a picture of, especially when your only 2!  He likes it, but I wanted to be able to make a scrapbook of his best shots, but the prints are so bad, the book would be pointless.

Lots of reviews trash talk this item. I think people have unreasonable expectations for this camera. Fisher Price actually did an okay job with it. Not great, not outstanding, but they deliver on what they say, which is Kid Tough. I would not give a 2 or 3 year old, or even a 4, 5, or 6 year old MY digital camera to walk around with. And I certainly paid more than the $60-$100 that this camera commands. Sure, my pics are of much higher quality, especially in dim lighting. But I can't drop it on a hardwood floor repeatedly.

I actually love the photos my 3 year old took when she first got this. There...

My 5 yr old daughter received the Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera as a Christmas gift from her aunt and uncle.  When she first got it, I thought "Oh no. This is going to be a pain."  Before Christmas I was thinking about buying it, but was turned off by all the customer reviews that I read on the Fisher Price website. The majority of reviews were quite negative, such as batteries not lasting at all and pictures are not clear enough. My daughter started using it and she loves it.  She has taken over 300 pictures with it and I have only changed that batteries twice.  She loves to take...

I was so excited about this product when it came out.  I am an amateur photographer.  I love taking pictures especially of my family.  I love capturing all of life memories.  When I saw this I thought, how awesome is this.  My daughter is always trying to take my camera and I sure can't have her break mine.  I convinced my parents to purchase it for her birthday in November.  They were a bit hesitant at first as I believe at the time it was about $65.  She was really excited about it but still can't seem to capture quality pictures as the screen is really dark and doesn't really focus. ... review »

This camera was really great - at first.  My son absolutely loves taking pictures with it and it's easy for him to use.  The software is easy to use and adequate for a child's needs.  My only problem with the camera is that it only worked for a short time.  I am actually on my third camera - the other two were returned.

The first camera's flash stopped working almost immediately.  I tried changing batteries, but this didn't help (the flash will only work with a well-charged battery).  So, I returned the camera and exchanged it for another one.

This one seemed to work well for a few weeks,...

The Fisher Price kids tough digital camera is amazing. I was extremely impressed on the quality of pictures and how quick my son learned to operate it fully. There are only a few bottons wich makes it really easy. He was so excited on Christmas to get to take his own holiday photos, he would not put the camera down. The internal memory holds around 60 pictures, which I was extremely impressed with and with a 516 mgb memory card it holds an additional 100 photos. I can not wait to take him to Disney with it. He takes it to all special occasions and seems excited to capture the moment. It is nice...

This digital camera is perfect for little hands.  It has two eye holes instead of one, so kids can really see their subject.  The screen on the back is plenty big to see the picture.  The controls are very simplistic, so any child can operate it by themselves.  It comes with the cable to connect right to your computer for easy printing of their pictures, which have a much better quality than I was expecting from a kids camera.

Your child is going to love this camera so much, you will want to get the SD card to hold more pictures, and plenty of batteries.  Also, I think the...

I was so excited to get these cameras for my twins because they love to play with my camera. They Fisher Price kid tough camera seemed like a great replacement. The camera is exactly as they say, durable and easy to use, but other than that, just an expensive toy. The picture quality is horrible. As a toy, I wasn't looking for great quality, but it's so bad that you can't use the photos. My 4 year olds don't like to play with them, because they can't see the photos on the screen because they are so dark. They always tell me it doesn't work and want to use mine. The pictures are very grainy,...

We bought this camera for my 4 year old son for christmas, and I just couldn't help but give it to him early. He always wants to play with my digital camera, but I'm afraid of him dropping it or damaging it in some way. He LOVES to take pictures of just about anything. The buttons were really easy for him to use. Even my 17 month old had figured out how to take a picture. Its so fun to took at all the pictures they take. My oldest son took it to preschool and took pictures of his friends. They all loved seeing eachother on the camera. I would recommend this product to anyone with creative children... review »

When my grandson received his Fisher-Price Kid-Tough digital camera on his third birthday he was overly excited. Now he had his own camera and he could take all the pictures he wanted and no one had to watch over him as he did so. He had the freedom to go outside or in the house to click away to his little hearts content. The pictures were what I expected from a childrens camera. I was in awe to see the world through his eyes, was amazing. And there were a few shocking photos, to say the least, that his 5 year old brother took.

The durability is great, just like most Fisher-Price toys. Colors...
