In terms of technology, Asus's P6X58D-E motherboard is outstanding because of it's reliability and specs, which include six DDR3 RAM slots, two PCI-express x16 slots, one PCI-express slot, and two PCI slots. In my current rig, the P6X58D-E is the "center" of my rig (obviously), and I have not had any sort of problems at all in the six months or so that I have owned it. On the plus side, it has plenty of ports, including four USB ports, an IEEE-1394 (firewire) port, and several others, and includes a high-quality, built-in sound card. On the other hand though, I wish Asus would have included another PCI-express (x1) slot, because as of now, there is only one slot, and it is occupied by a cable tuner card, and I would like to add another NIC (network interface card) to my rig... However, I wouldn't let this minor drawback discourage anyone from purchasing this Asus motherboard (or any other MB model made by Asus).
