Not what I thought it was.

3

This was one of the first of many cameras that I have bought in the past few years. It was also one of the worst I have ever purchased I have had a couple that were worse but this being a Vivitar product I expected much more. The camera took very low quality pictures in my opinion it just didn't seem to ever focus well, the entire time I used the particular unit I took lots of pictures. In most cases I would get one decent photograph out of around sixty that I would take in a given time. I used this Vivitar for about three months before I decided for sure it wasn't user error causing the problems. I wouldn't recommend this camera for anything more than a camera for a child to play with. The battery life is the one good quality I have found with this unit it seemed to last a lot longer than some of my others do, but a good battery life on a bad camera just doesn't mean a lot to me. I did however like the ease of use with this camera it functions well and reacts quickly in most cases, it just doesn't take a good picture.

Vivitar ViviCam: Pont. Click. Enjoy.

4

If you need an easy to use point-and-click camera for younger kids or older parents then the ViviCam is worth checking out. This is one of the older models from Vivitar but you can still find it in some retail stores as well as online. I originally bought this to take pictures of my Lego dioramas because it has auto-focus and the flash automatically adjusts to the surroundings. It has an internal battery that charges through the same cord that you use to transfer your images. That makes it extremely easy for everyone of every age to use without getting connection errors. When you unplug the cord after transferring your images the software for it closes too so you don't have something running in the background hogging your system resources. Even though this is small and light weight it is sturdy; I dropped it several times and I never had any problems with the screen or internal lens cracking. Out of the box it is ready to use but you are going to want to charge it in order to be able to use all of the features of it as well as being able to play around with the setting and storage. Some of the cooler features include the ability to remove "red eye" when you use the flash or are taking pictures in a low-light setting and you do have the option to use it to capture videos however the max is about sixty seconds unless you reduce the quality. If you want to take group photos there is a timer too but you are going to want to set it for the longest time possible (ten seconds) to make sure everyone is where they should be. The photos are saved as JPEG images so you can use most editing software to add text to photos or to crop them. Movies are saved in the AVI format so you may need to convert them before uploading them to certain websites. This isn't the best small format digital camera on the market but for trips to the zoo, birthday parties and family outings it is perfect.

This Vivitar-Vivicam Digital Camera was okay for my 8 year old

4

My Mom and I went out and purchased this camera for my daughter. I thought it would be great for her. The Vivitar-Vivicam Digital Camera had very little memory and was full after her only taking 4 pictures. I couldn't figure out how to insert the memory card. I read the instructions and they were not very clear. This was a really cheap camera and you certainly get what you pay for. I wasn't happy with this camera. My Mom also purchased this digital camera for my niece and she had the same issue. I was very disappointed in this camera. I was counting on the girls being able to take lots of pictures for our Family Christmas party and here we were with two cameras that we couldn't use. Image Quality You could barely see the images on this camera. They were blurry and hard to make out. Performance It didn't hold any pictures. The internal memory on this camera held four pictures and then you couldn't take anymore. Ease of Use It was pretty easy to use. The only issue I had was trying to find the place to insert the memory card, but other than that it was exceptionally easy to use for my 8 year old and I. Battery Life This cameras batteries worked well. Although we didn't get to use the camera much my daughter left hers on and the battery life was still full. Portability This digital camera was small and compact. Easy to fit in my daughters purse or pocket.

A great starter digital camera for a teen who is just starting.

A nice inexpensive digital camera, it would be great for a teen to just goof around with, but not if you are wanting to zoom in activities the zoom function is blurry. Also has a tendency to lock up while taking pictures, so you think you've taken some great shots and they are just not there when you go to review them. Battery Life that is one of the good points to this camera, the battery if fully charged will last an entire day of sight seeing. Portability small and easy to carry, comes with a wrist strap and pouch fits easily into small purses, back backs and even some of the pockets on my jeans.

Not the best quality

1

We bought this camera on sale for very cheap and i guess we got what we paid for. This camera does the job of taking pictures but the quality and the speed of taking the picture is not the best. We find that this camera is cool because it has touch screen but it's not the best quality in being user friendly. When you zoom in and zoom out the outside of the lense doesn't even move, which i think it quite awd because all of my past cameras have zoomed in and out. If you are looking to just casually take pictures and aren't into photography much this camera will work for you. my case i'm trying to catch my toddlers "first moments" with a camera that takes forever it seems to take one picture and by then my son has already figured out what i'm doing and is reaching for this little peice of technology.

Black, compact, affordable, and easy to use

This is the easiest camera I have ever owned, not to say affordable. My Vivita, Vivicam 8025 8.1 Mega-Pixel Touch Screen Digital Camera is the only thing I need, along with my PC, to take quality photos and shoot view if I want. I own a business that requires a lot of photo taking and this little camera is the hadiest thing. When the lighting is not light enough the auto flash is a life saver because you might think that it is light enough when in all reality it is a little to dark. It has an easy set up to follow for getting it set up on your PC or MAC, it goes both ways. It is rechargable, which is a blessing iwith any electronic device. When the battery gets low, plug it injust like you would your cell phone and it is fully charged in about 4 hours from a completely dead battery. "It also has a touch screne feature that I just love, the whole menu can be navigated through the touch screen, how cool is that!?"
