Not Good For Sensitive Skin

3

I purchased this product before my daughter was born thinking that this is what I was gonna wash all of her clothes with. However, after having her wear a couple clothing pieces that I had used this to wash them with, I noticed a small rash on her upper back. Not knowing exactly what it could be I stopped using a couple of the lotions and bathing products that I had originally used on her. It did not go away. Next, I stopped washing her clothes with this detergent and started using a more natural one without dyes, chlorine, or unnatural fragrances. That made all the difference. Her rash went away in a couple days and it has not been back since. I have come to find that my daughter does have pretty sensitive skin, though, so if your baby does not, this product may work well for you. It did clean the clothing nicely and it does have a nice (very subtle) scent.

I received up & up liquid baby laundry detergent as a gift at my daughter's baby shower. I had never heard of it before but I was definitely up for trying it out. I found that the detergent worked really well to remove milk stains and potty accident stains from my daughter's clothes. I did use a little more product in the washing machine than what is directed on the bottle, but I wanted to see if the scent would "stick" better by doing that. That was the only thing that I did not really like about this laundry detergent. It did not have a very stout smell at all. When I first took the clothes out of the dryer they would smell good, but by the time I finished folding them and hanging them up it seemed the smell was gone. I know it is better for babies but I love the soft, subtle smell that is left on baby clothes after using Dreft. I was hoping it compared to that scent a little more. This laundry detergent worked really well with my daughter's skin also. It did not make her red or breakout at all. I was very pleased with this! I would recommend this baby laundry detergent to anyone who wants a good cleaning detergent and to anyone who is not big on the clothes having a long lasting scent on them.

Wouldn't buy this again.

I bought up and up liquid baby laundry detergent when my second child was about two months old. She had incredibly sensitive skin, and we struggled with finding a laundry detergent that worked for her. In this end this was not the one. The price point was okay. Not dramatically cheaper than the name brand, if you used coupons on the name brand. The scent of this detergent was also borderline unpleasant. It was not quite unscented, while at the same time not being scented strongly enough to cover that chemically smell. After washing it was almost neutral, but still had sort of a strange scent. Most importantly this baby detergent still left my sweet baby girl with a rash anywhere it touched her. Something in the make up disagreed with baby skin, making all the rest of the facts I have shared completely unimportant. No matter what the cost or smell, if it gives the baby a rash it is a no go for me. Disappointing since I usually love up and up.

Great for Babies and Children's Clothes

When my grandchildren stay over, I often do a lot of their laundry. They range in age from one to seven. I bought this in a major baby store to try it out. Since it is gentle, I was skeptical at first but I was wrong. It works really well to get out stains from babies such as spit up stains and food stains as well as the stains my older grandchildren get from playing. It does a very efficient job of cleaning the laundry. It is basically fragrance free. It does have a very mild scent that does not last at all on the clothes and that is the one thing I do not like about it. I like when the laundry detergent has a nice scent that lasts on the clothes. There are other baby detergents out there that do have a nice scent and that is why I would probably purchase those brands instead. It is very good for sensitive skin and does not make children or babies skin break out and I would even use it for adults with sensitive skin. I recommend this detergent.

When my daughter was born I was a lover of dreft, but it's expensive. I tried the up & up brand just to say I tried it. I loved it! It smells better than other brands and is half the price. I use the target cartwheel app and usually always have a percentage off the price. Price per ounce compared to other brands is unbeatable. I find I don't need to use much otherwise I have tons of suds. This detergent does great on stains. I usually do pretreat my stains but even when I don't it still works great. I like that the bottle is able to stand in a cupboard and has a spout. I feel I use less because it has a spout and I can control how much I use better. I find the smell of this detergent stays around awhile on the clothes. I love pulling them out of the drawer and having that fresh baby scent. I would recommend this product for babies and definitely those who watch their pennies closely. I will continue to use this product in the future.

Worked just fine for my niece.

My niece has very sensitive skin, as well as eczema, and develops rashes easily when it is irritated. I used this for three months when I had to do her laundry as well as mine. It did not remove fecal (it was a bit extreme, however) and sweat stains very well, but it did a pretty good job at getting out baby food, even vibrantly colored (squash, peas, carrot, etc.). It never irritated her fragile skin, so I was afraid to switch. Performance It did pretty well, also considering that I did not expect much out of it because it was made to be extra gentle. It did not feel like it was freshening my clothes enough because of the lack of scent. Sometimes gym sweat stains would still smell a little funky and would have to get washed again. Scent It smells alright in the bottle, but when your clothes dry there is no scent at all. Once my niece left, I gave the rest of the bottle away because I am a huge fan of lingering detergent scents.

very efficient and safe for me since I have very sensitive skin.

very efficient and safe for me since I have very sensitive skin and the scent is mild as i need it because strong scent makes it difficult for me to breathe. So, this is the best for me. The clothes stay fresh for long than others and the detergent is not too harsh on the clothes so the clothes' life is extended. A little detergent is enough for a big load of clothes so this is very cost effective too.
