My mom purchased this product for me when I was a teenager. I was broken out really badly and had blackheads on my nose and chin. I was excited to finally get a product that would help clear up my skin. Then I was greatly disappointed. I used it for a week as directed and noticed absolutely no difference except my pores turned blue cuz the scrubbing beads got stuck in them. I saw absolutely no decrease in my acne and I was not impressed by the product at all. I would not recommend it. It says compare to the name brand product but I haven't tried that brand so I don't know if that one is just of a dud as this one. I have never been let down by equate products before so this was pretty disappointing. Maybe I just have problem skin and thus blackhead scrub would work well got others. I don't know but it is pretty inexpensive compared to other products but I say don't bother with it.

We bought this product thinking it would be great considering the ads for it in magazines and it's in almost every store you go into, but we were SO wrong! I've had pretty bad acne up until 3 years ago when I started using Oxyclean, it cleared up my acne pretty well but unfortunately I was allergic to one of the chemicals in it so I had to find a new acne treatment. I tried a few of the popular brands but they were expensive, so I found this product, Equate Blackhead Clearing Scrub, it was affordable and sounded great, until that night. I went home, showered and I used this scrub just as the directions said to and it left my face feeling oily and tingly. It felt like it was working so I just went to bed after I rinsed my face one more time, just to TRY and get the oil feeling off. (I still felt like my face was oily and kind of dry at the same time). I woke up yesterday and my acne was WORSE! I saw 3 new ones starting! I asked around and my friends tried it as well and also had the oily feeling and they ended up with worse acne than before. I stopped using it and this morning I feel much better, my acne looks better and the product I bought last night did it's job. Equate says "Compare to Clean & Clear" so I did... They shouldn't tell you to compare their product with their competitors products if the competitors is better. I will NEVER by Equate cleansers again nor will I recommend them to ANYONE! Effectiveness I woke up with more acne starting to come in than I had when I went to bed! Ease of Application Won't lie, very easy to apply and directions were very simple to fallow. Convenience It's in just about every store you go into and it's kinda cheap... For a reason! Side Effects I'm not sure if a 1 or a 10 is good for this section but I'll put a 1 because the side effects were terrible! Itchy face in the morning, more acne, oily face and dry skin! Immediacy Don't use!

I have a bad problem with black heads especially on my nose and chin. I use pore strips but they only keep them away for a short period of time then they always come back. I strarted using this twice a week in combination with using the pore strips and I no longer see the blackheads anymore. Effectiveness I notice the difference and the product working from the first time that I used the product. The blackheads were gone and the ones that were not gone were loosened enough that if I use a pore strip they will come right off. Makes my skin look healthy. cleans out more pores and feels cool when i apply it. Ease of Application Very easy to use. I use about a nickel size amount and rub it around my face in circular motions for about 30 seconds and then rinse with cool water because it closes up the pores. Convenience Very convenient. I use it in the shower in case it gets in my hair line I do not have to worry about it being in my hair when I get out. Side Effects No side effects. I have really sensitive skin and I break out easy but I was surprised that I did not while using this product. Immediacy I notice it working from the first time that I had used it. great product that works.

Equate blackhead clearing scrub has been instrumental in giving me a face that I am proud to show off in public. In the past I have really struggled with blackheads and tried a lot of products before I found this one. The Equate brand blackhead clearing scrub is a great product because it is effective yet gentle and does not cost a fortune. I usually use it in the shower as part of my face cleansing routine, and I also usually use a general face wash as well for the rest of my face. I noticed a difference in the clarity of my skin in a short amount of time, approximately two or three weeks, with consistent use. I have not noticed any dryness or peeling with this product, which really pleases me because I have found that to be the case with other products I have tried. It is gentle enough for everyday use. I highly recommend this product! I can't think of a single reason that I would not recommend this product to anyone. Try it and you will certainly be pleased. Your friends will notice a difference!

I do like some Equate products because I feel like they do a good job at offering products that are about as good as the real thing. In fact, some products are made by the same company but they are able to offer it at a cheaper price because they aren't putting their brand on it. This blackhead clearing scrub looks a lot like the Clean and Clear and works just as well. I did not really expect this to get rid of my blackheads and it really didn't happen either. However, I do think that this is a good exfoliater. My face was really soft and smooth after using this. I did not have any acne on my face while using this so I can't comment on the acne eliminator part of this scrub. However, I did not have any breakouts following the use of this product and my face did not dry out. Overall, if you want to save money on an exfoliater, you should check out this product. It's very cheap and you can find it at any Walmart.

I bought the Equate blackhead clearing scrub for my tween daughter who began breaking out. It looked comparable to the name brand, at a much better price. After a few days of using it I began seeing an improvement in her face. I was quite happy to see a nice clear face again. That is until I saw that it only lasted a few days. The breakouts started again and seemed unaffected by this product. She is still using it to wash morning and night, but still has both acne and blackheads. Needless to say, this product has let us down. The active ingredient is salicylic acid 2%. It also has little blue scrubbing beads that get stuck to your face as you scrub. Overall, it seems ok as a general face wash, but I am majorly disappointed at the lack of acne relief we have seen thus far, about a month, using this product. It also requires a lot of product as it is a scrub and does not lather. Everyone has different skin, but for our home we say save your money!

I had high hopes for this scrub.  It has really great texture with gentle but fairly large and good sized beads.  It gives a really great mentholish clean feel after you have fully rinsed your face.  I was loving this scrub and really hoped it would get rid of my clogged pores.  However, for the first few weeks, it broke me out.  I was okay with this (although uncomfortable with my skin) knowing that sometimes your skin needs time to adjust to new products.  After a few weeks, I noticed a very minimal reduction in clogged pores, but they quickly came back.  I used this everyday for two months trying to give it the fairest possible chance because I really did love the quality and texture and the awesome cooling sensation it left behind.  However, I will probably not be repurchasing although I am interested in finding another similar equate scrub that uses benzoyl peroxide as opposed to salictic acid (or whatever it's called).

When i tried the Equate blackhead clearing scrub, my face cleared up. This stuff really works! I tried many acne products and nothing worked like this has. The equate blackhead clearing scrub is compared to the Clean&Clear blackhead scrub but, i think it works better than clean and clear brand. I use this equate blackhead scrub twice a day and it not only clears up my nasty blackheads, it gets rid of regular acne as well. It works in more ways than one and i would recommend it to anyone with bad acne and those horrible blackheads. My face used to look horrible, but i started using Equate and it solved everything. Equate has cleared up my face and solved my problems. It has made my self-esteem go up and i have gotten a boyfriend and i have Equate to thank. This stuff has cleared my face and saved my teenage life. Everything other acne product has not worked but this really works. I will continue to use Equate for as long as i have acne and blackheads. This really works, Believe me.
