I have experience using eFollett because this was the online company of choice that my university used to offer their textbooks. Because of this (going through the university) the prices were much more expensive than buying them from other websites that offered peer to peer selling/buying. The plus side of eFollett though, is that if my university could trust them, I too felt like it was a company that I trusted. The site is easy to access and easy enough to navigate. I have mostly only used this site in regards to getting textbooks, and they have almost always had what I needed, unless it was some kind of a special edition (which some professors tend to do). And I don't know if this is for all colleges who go through eFollett, but the site always offered other merchandise such as school apparel and other gifts that one would find in the campus bookstore. I don't know if the prices were any better than what they were on campus, but for the apparel they were decently priced online.

To be fair, I use this website to check out the availability of my college bookstore items, and I went to a small college. Perhaps that has something to do with the very limited selection of products, or perhaps it is the college itself that limits items. You can't get items from my school in regular stores or other online stores due to its small size. I have searched efollett.com many times looking for apparel and other gifts, and there is a very limited selection and very limited sizing available. Additionally, their sizes seem to run very small, unless you like your clothes skin tight. An extra-large fits more like a medium or large, in my opinion. It's disappointing to not be able to find apparel or unique items. The one exception is a beautiful wood frame customized to my college that my husband bought me for Christmas. It was made specifically to fit my diploma, has lovely matting, and is just gorgeous. It arrived in a timely manner and in perfect condition.

One of the schools I went to used eFollett as it's recommended textbook store. It is a very easy to use website that makes getting everything that you need for all of your classes from one place simple. To search for your book list, you simply enter the term, department, and class number. eFollett then pulls up the list of required and recommended reading for your class section. You can then select a book and view the BUY/RENT and condition (NEW/USED) options available to you. After you add everything to your cart online, you can either have the books mailed to you or avoid paying shipping costs by selecting the option to pick up your materials at your campus bookstore. I always selected the in store pickup option, and my store was very speedy about preparing the books for me - Within a day I usually had an email from eFollett telling me they were ready for pickup. In terms of pricing, I think that eFollett is comparable to most other textbook sites. I still recommend price checking other sources, but you can get some good deals through eFollett, particularly if you buy used or have the ability to rent your books. Overall, I would definitely recommend that anyone use this website. At minimum, it is a great start point to get your specific class textbook lists and get a base price to then compare any other sources against.
