It was ok, definitely not the best mascara i have ever bought. I had a lot higher expectations seeing as how i have bought many items from this company. It didn't color my lashes as deeply or as rich looking as i like. It clumped up awfully easily. And i always have issues with mascaras that have a certain smell to them (Thesmell that they have is a sign for me that if i wear it for too long it will end up making my eyes itch a little bit, not quite like an allergy). Applying was easy, with the exception of it not doing and covering as much as i wanted, but it does work if your just using it as a basic daily mascara. And as a heads up as far as lengthening and volumizing it was a no go, it did neither for me. I tried layering this on as much as possible to make my lashes look longer and more volumized and i ended up with clumpy blah looking lashes. But as i said its pretty decent as a basic everyday mascara for the price you pay for it.

I purchased this mascara thinking that at the low price, it wouldn't matter that it was a small tube and wouldn't last long. The first day it was great, but after that it was a gloppy mess. No price is worth the mess of having to redo it 3x trying to get it look good. I threw it away after a week.

I didn't feel like there was anything special about e.l.f. Lengthening and Defining mascara. First, it didn't hold curl especially well (although its dryer formula did work better than some other mascaras I've tried), and although it darkened my lashes, it didn't volumize noticeably and only lengthened them slightly. Also, this mascara pretty much either ran out or dried up within a month of my opening it. My biggest problem with this mascara was that within about an hour of applying it, half of it smudged all below my eyes and I had major raccoon eyes. What stops this from being a total failure is that it does help define lashes, or at least separates them. This is fantastic in that it manages to coat lashes without clumping them together, so it also doesn't flake or look spidery at all. If there was a way for this ultra cheap mascara to curl and to stay put, it would be well worth buying.
