I purchased the professional Zoom treatment through a local dentist's Groupon. Although I had heard about sensitivity, the office I went to said they have a newer Zoom system that minimizes the sensitivity. I was under the impression the "old" Zoom system did cause problems. I do have sensitive teeth due to acid erosion and I had no problem. Be prepared for several rounds within a session. The technician paints the bleach onto your teeth and then a light interacts with the foam to remove stains. It seems I went through 4 cycles. I was shocked at how white my teeth were. I think I was 6 shades lighter when I left the office. As with any professional service, I think the technician plays a huge role in the success. Ask how often the office performs the procedure. The office I went to had an excellent reputation and I did indeed receive excellent service and results. It's a great way to see a noticeable difference in a short period of time.

Not the best for super sensitive teeth, but works very well. Effectiveness Was skeptical, as the cost was pretty low and at the time I had it done, it was still new. If you want your teeth at least 2 shades whiter, get this done! Although the after effects were a bit harsh for me, the process was easy, fairly quick and worked so well. Minimal Side Effects This is the only reason I wouldn't give this product a perfect 10. It works, yes, but the after effects can be terrible if you have sensitive teeth. They will give pointers to help sooth the tooth pain, but for someone like me with sensitive teeth, you basically have to bare through the pain. It is a sharp-shooting, never-ending pain. Granted, whitening strips can cause this in smaller ''doses'' but your teeth just went through a shock with Zoom. So if you can bare the next several hours after the treatment, this is the thing for you! To be clear..I have heard of many many others who have had this done and had no pain at all. If you have teeth that are not sensitive, I'm willing to bet this would be a cake walk for you.

Zoom Teeth Whitening was one of the most painful procedures of my life. The Dentist did not warn me about the zings, which were extremely painful, but the worst thing was the pain afterwards. I said I was in pain when it was over (about 2 hours). The dentist gave me 800 mg. of Advil. When I got home I felt like I had a toothache in every tooth in my head. I called the dentist & they said to have a family member return to get some "relief gel". This gave relief for about 5 minutes. I was told I'd feel better within 48 hours. In addition to the extreme pain I was still getting zings two days later. This supposedly only happens to a small percentage of people. I am not a person who has dental anxiety and I have had dental implants and oral surgery with novacaine and no general anesthesia. The one good thing is my teeth do look considerably lighter. Since I have a bridge they couldn't go lighter than the bridge or it wouldn't look right. The other advantage was that I lost 4 pounds since I couldn't eat since I was in pain and I could not have coffee, tea, blueberries or other foods that would stain my teeth for 48 hours. Effectiveness My teeth do look whiter. Convenience The procedure took about 2 hours. Imagine keeping your mouth open for 2 hours. To keep your teeth white you need to use a whitening kit at home a few times a year. Minimal Side Effects Side effects were terrible. I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep all night. Advil and the "relief gel" did not relieve the pain.

I would say that my teeth were somewhat whiter but for the cost and time involved, I expected it to be MUCH whiter than they were. Effectiveness There was some whitening but not enough in my opinion. This was an expensive treatment that insurance and health spending accounts do not cover, so I had high hopes. Convenience Not convenient. Had to take off work to go to the dentist. Minimal Side Effects I had some sensitivity at first but other than that, there wasn't much in the way of side effects.

I used the Zoom! Professional Teeth Whitening System at home only. I did not get the Ultraviolet light treament in the Dentist Office. My brother did both the light treament and the home treament, but our results were the same. I had several places that were very dark that were reduced dramatically. All other areas of my teeth that were just yellow were whitened completely. I would say that this the best whitening system that I have ever used and I had tried all the home systems such as the crest whitening strips and whitening toothpastes. This teeth whitening system is extremely easy to use. The only negative thing I can say about Zoom! is that it did make my teeth very sensitive. I used a quality sensisitive toothpaste while taking all of my Zoom! home treatments and it did help. I would say the sensitivity was minor compared to the lasting results this product has given me. I would recommend anyone that needs a boost of self confidence in their smile to try this teeth whitening system!

Zoom Professional Whitening System is the way to go. I have had this professional Whitening System done on myself  and Loved the results. I worked as a Dental Assistant for 33yrs and have performed this procedure on patients myself. I love to do this procedure because I love people, it takes about an hour to do and that is how I get to know my patients and have fun and you will have fun as well, you get to stop for one hour of the day and take your mind off of your busy schedule and do something for yourself and no one else,it is your day or hour should I say. If you would rather have peace and quiet just let your assistant know.  When you are done you can go back to your regular schedule, just lay back and take a hour off and just do it.  I have never had a patient every tell me they hated it. Everybody has been satisfied with the results. In some cases it has to be done more then one time but on different days, it all depends on your situations.You will be told if it will take several times to achieve the results you want. Most of the time it is done in one sitting. Most Doctors also give you trays to take home to brighten your smile any time you want for that special day and to keep that white smile up and it only takes a few more minutes of your day to get the bright white smile back, if you did not use your mouth you would never have to freshen it up, but the world  and your body do not work that way, we have the need to eat and drink.  In this busy world today people want fast results and that is what you get. Most people love how fast it works. People do it for several reasons: I am getting married, important business meeting, I have to give a speech and a new man or woman in your life. Their are people out their that do not smile because they are not satisfied with the color of their teeth and hold their hand over their mouth to talk, laugh or smile. I am a dental assistant, have been for 14 years.  I have performed many Zoom! Whitening procedures on patients who were less than satisfied.  First, and most important, EVERYONE who had it done could not finish an entire session because of the extreme sensitivity!  They all left my office having these shooting pains in thier teeth!  I hated to do it, when I saw it on the schedule, I just wanted to run away.  After the shooting pain stopped, in about 12 hours, their teeth would actually go back to the shade they were before I did the whitening!  Discuss Dental calls that a "bounce back shade". The patient has to follow very strict rules with thier diet for almost a week **(no coffee, tea, soda, ANYTHING that would stain a white shirt).** *So really,* *you can only eat bread and drink water!  YUM!!*  Also, Discuss recommends we make them take home trays and they would have to bleach on thier own for about a week!  The point of an in-office procedure is that it is "in-office", they don't want to do it at home!  So what I am saying is, if you are intersted in bleaching your teeth, have the trays made **(at** **your dental office)** and do it at your own pace.  Much less sensitivity that way with awesome results!

What a disappointment! I cheerfully went to my local salon with my post-holiday gift money as I wanted to brighten my teeth. Oh well. Not the case. Not only did I not see any difference after the first treatment, I was told that it might take two, and payed another fee on the spot to do the second one in one salon visit. Again, no difference whatsoever. I am not someone who has extremely yellow/discolored teeth, just slightly yellow and/or needing a little brightening. The way all these ads read in various publications I expected beautiful white "chicklet" teeth. Instead, no difference at all. I had previously tried strips over the counter which didn't work for me as well. The only thing I have found thus far that works was through a dentist. The custom made trays and formula worked beautifully and the results lasted for years. Therefore, I have come to accept that this is probably the best way to achieve the ideal results.

The process was long and the "paste" burned my gums.  I had white burns on my gums for several hours and my teeth were whiter, yes, but it just was not worth all of the money I spent on it.  It's not worth it.
