After reading some of the reviews, I was unsure with this item with the fear that it was going to malfunction. But after getting it and playing with it,it has worked well so far. In terms of a tuner, this Zinwell one is pretty fast, it allows on-the-fly alteration of the antenna with instant on-screen results with an excellent signal quality and strength bars. The whole user interface is also quick. It turns an aged analog TV truly feel like a new digital TV. There's a program guide so you know what you're watching and what shows are coming up. The picture quality is excellent! I hooked up a small tiny indoor antenna so far but will be replacing it with an antenna that has a rotating motor so I can point the antenna toward different TV stations. There is no going back to analog once you see the difference.
