From Rice, to leftovers... steamed veggies and hot dogs! You name it ~ I have used this wonderful rice cooker! It is just the perfect size for the two of us to create an entire meal by using the small steam basket on top of the rice. Sweet Asian chicken with Jasmine rice and peas was dinner last night. I love how the cooker knows when the meal is done, makes a beep, and then switches to keep warm! The stainless exterior is easy to clean, and the controls are foolproof Performance My only issue is that the keep warm temps run a little high and have browned my rice. Never burned it!! But browned it on the bottom Ease of Cleaning The non stick coating makes the insert easy to wipe clean or to place in the dishwasher. the steam basket is plastic but is high quality and can handle the dishwasher also. there is a small "cup" on the outside of the lid that collects condensation that I have lost... it was the only item that was any trouble to clean. But it works fine without it anyway Ease of Use I would feel safe letting my grandchildren cook with this rice cooker! Even my darling hubby can put all the items needed for a nice meal into our Wolfgang Puck Rice cooker and make a successful dinner! Durability the exterior has yet to get scratched - even with being stainless. the non stick coating on the insert does scratch and after a few years it now looks worn, but still does what it is supposed to do. I have dropped it, bumped it, and it still keeps working like new! Design I love how I can roll up the cord, put it inside the steam basket, slide the serving spoon into it's holder and put it in the cupboard. The design is clean and modern looking without taking up much space when in use or while being stored.

I used the Wolfgang Puck 5-cup rice cooker a lot in college. Rice would come out with a nice consistency: not dry, moist but firm. But the rice cooker has a lot of utility besides cooking rice. You can use it as a steamer and a pressure cooker. The product manual has some recipes in it. One of them that I tried was the macaroni and cheese and it's some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had. It was a quick and easy meal and there would be a nice burnt cheese crunch in the bottom. The rice cooker is easy to clean because all you need to do is remove the bowl and clean that. A 5-cup rice cooker is probably not big enough for a family, but it's more than enough for one or two people. This is a very basic rice cooker. There's not any timer settings or anything, but at the price I do not have any complaints. Overall, I'd recommend this rice cooker as a way to cook your meals. It's not just for rice, it's a multi-purpose cooking machine!

The Wolfgang Puck 5-Cup Rice Cooker is the smallest rice cooker Wolfgang Puck produces. I regret not getting the bigger size because while for rice this is a perfect size for a family to cook in, For any other food you want to cook the space inside is very limited. For example I love making ribs inside the rice cooker (a recipe included in the Wolfgang Puck Rice Cooker manual) but not a lot of room to stick them in. Same for the steamer bowl that comes with the cooker. But otherwise I cannot complain about the product and it's main function (cooking rice). It automatically switches to the warm setting once the rice is cooked so you never burn it (the rice container is also non-stick). There is also a condensation cup so all the sweat from inside the lid drips in there when you open the rice cooker top. Very little mess to clean up after. In addition the Wolfgang Puck 5-cup Rice cooker also comes with a measuring cup & plastic spoon.

This is such a nice produt to have in the kitchen. There are so many things you can do with it. Its not just for cooking rice, although it does make the perfect rice each and every time. My kids like when I make macaroni and cheese in it. It's nice size to have if you dont want to pull out the big crock pot for keeping food warm while entertaining. The only issue I have is whenever Ded Murrah or Wolfgang does a demostration using this cooker, they say you can use your hand mixer to whip mashed potatoes in it, I tried that a couple of times and now the insert is all scratched up because of the mixer's beaters. I wont make that mistake again. Other than that its a great kitchen item. I dont buy his products that often, I think they are quite overpriced, just for having his name stamped on it I guess.
