Great chocolates, not the variety you use to have.

I always love them but more so when there was more varied chocolates. Too much of the same things in the box. make a CLASSIC WHITMAN'S.

I probably will not buy this product again

I have been buying and eating Whitman's sampler for over 65 years. First of all, you put less weight in the boxes and raise your prices. Secondly you change the product Inside the Box. Thirdly the product does not taste like it used to. It does not taste good. I am very disappointed in Whitman's sampler candy. A candy taste old even though I had a box that had a good sell-by date on it. I probably will not buy Whitman sampler again. I am very sorry because this used to be my most favorite candy.

Who wouldn't love it?

I LOVE Whitman's Samplers. It's high quality, delicious chocolate with a classic and classy presentation. I far prefer Whitman's to Russell Stover chocolates. The chocolate quality is evident when you pick up the iconic "Whitman"s man" chocolate in the center of every sampler and let it melt on your tongue. It has no filling or cream in it, it's just a plain square of chocolate. It's so smooth and delicious.

So tasty and decadent!

Whtiman's Sampler Assorted Chocolates are so rich and decadent! I love getting a box of them for Valentine's Day. Whitman's and Russel Stover are the only chocolates that I want for a special occasion. Whitman's comes in a nice box and it contains a variety of chocolates. My favorites are the caramel and chocolate centers! It also contains a cherry cordial, toffee, some nutty clusters, strawberry, etc. They are of high quality. The chocolate alone tastes fabulous! The fillings are wonderful.

whitman's of 2010 sucks!!!!

I loved Whitman's sampler.  That's right, LOVED, not love anymore.  They have far few chocolates, and their 1 pound box is short 4 ounces.  I miss the beloved candies like orange cream, caramel and marshmallow, raspberry jelly, toasted cocunut in choclate.  Where did these go, and why isn't the cherry cordial wrapped in gold foil, and the two toffee pieces in the same holder? Now the toffee pieces take up two spots, and the molasses chew and almond nougat rein, the worst of the bunch!!!  Plus the 2 layers were different, not anymore, now the sucky molasses chew shows up twice along with the other crappy almond nougot and peanuts.  Where is the vermont maple fudge and the mint and marshmallow?  Where did these wonderous chocolates go?  Do I need to buy Russell Stoves?  Oh, how do I dare say that name?  Someone please help!!!  Plese bring back the full pound and give us back the variety.  Thank you.  I hope someone is listening.

Whitmans sampler assorted chocolates are delicious.  I had to buy my own for Christmas, but I guress thats ok.  I am always so picky with chocolates because, as you know, not all chocolates let you know the flavors.  So I took a chance on this one, because I hate fruit cream chocolates. (yuck)  So what I have done is made a detailed list for you all who don't know what type of candy you are going to recieve and a short description of each. - coconut-tastes like a (milk chocolate) mounds - chocolate covered peanuts-exactly that - caramel-tastes like milky way without the nougat - chocolate covered almonds-dark chocolate covered almonds - chocolate whip- 3 musketeers - pecan and english walnut cluster(my fav) - mollasses chew- a charleston chew or a mary jane inside - messenger boy- solid milk chocolate - almond nougat-almond chew??lol - cashew cluster- milk chocolate covered cashews(yum) - chocolate truffle- dark cocolate covered fudge - toffee chip- like a heath bar - cherry cordial- chocolate covered cherries - vermont fudge- tastes like coffee Well thats a rundown!!!  Hope it helps!!!!

Have found better chocolates at about the same price

I love my chocolate but have had to watch the sugar intake lately.  I found that if I had a box of chocolates on hand, I could take one or 2 & walk away rather than eating a big candy bar.  I've tried several brands & found Whitman's to be about average.  Same type of chocolate, same fillings, nothing really outstanding about it.  Just kind of average. If I could only buy from a store, Whitman's would be my pick but I'd rather order some brands of chocolates online & have them delivered to my door.

I give myself great Valentine's day gifts. Single Mom power!

My Granny loved Whitman's samplers. They are the yellow boxes of mixed candies put out by Whitman's. Sometimes they wrap them a little different for the holidays, but the box is classic. Wrap it any way you want, and it is still a Whitman's Sampler. You can look at the shape and tell it's Whitman's. I must confess that I do not love every chocolate in the collection, but there are so many good ones that it's definately a good buy. I especially love the nut candies, and I sometimes just buy the Whitman's nut collection. With the Sampler box though, I also get the chocolate covered cherry. This is not like the cheap ones. It's the max. Another favorite is the raspberry gel. My brother and I both love that one, so we must fight it out to see who gets that one. This is really the only mixed collection that I ever buy. Most of the mixed boxes have a lot of yucky candies. They are not labeled either like Whitman's. In the top of the Whitman's box, you can see what you are getting. There's nothing much worse than getting an icky candy. I tried once pinching a small piece out of the side in a mixed box to check. My Mom thought I bit the candies, so I was in trouble. I was a kid - of course. I stopped pinching the sides of candies but also stopped eating the collection candies except for Whitman's. Whitman's always has candies out at Valentine's. I got myself a box last year. I am not sorry to confess to that. I'm a single Mom, so if I am not good to myself, then I may not get anything and then feel sorry for myself (-: Well, not really. But it's a good excuse to get a box of Whitman's. I even share my candy. That's just what Moms do. My Mom also likes Whitman's, so I often get her a box at Valentine's. She was never a single Mom, but my Dad died in a traffic accident two years ago. She might not get to feel special at Valentine's if we (the kids of the family) do not get something. I know she'll like the Whitman's Sampler, since the candy is good. It's kind of nostalgic for her too. I think this brand and box was a "big deal" before my time. That's my confession. I buy myself candy for Valentine's Day and enjoy the heck out of it. I make sure my Mom is covered too. If I think of anyone else who needs a little loving at Valentine's, then I'll stick an extra Whitman's Sampler in my cart. It's a good box of candy. It's not very expensive. It says "love." Even if you buy it for yourself.
