When our old Whirlpool washer died this past summer, I went on the hunt for a quality washer.  I was given recommendations on buying a steam washer if I could since they work so well.  I was a bit sceptical, afraid that it wouldn't live up to the gradiose image, but went ahead an purchased the Whilrpool Duet with Steam.  I am so glad that I did. My college age son works in an agricultural job, and comes home sweaty, smelly, and covered in dirt and plant stains.  Our family also has sensitive skin, so there are only so many kinds of laundry soap that I can use.  While they work for "normal" tough stains, the extensive ground in grime and protein stains were not coming out completely.  Once I bought the Duet with Steam, even most of the OLD stains came out!!!  Let me say that was well beyond what I expected.  This has saved my son money since he also works with the public, so his clothes need to be as stain free as possible.  Some have complained of leaks or other issues with many of the different styles of the Whirlpool Duet washers, but I haven't experienced any issues at all with ours.  While I've only had it for about five months, with my family of 7, laundry is done a couple of times each day, so the washer has definitely put to the test here.  The only negative that I can think of is that if a load should be left in the washer for a day for some reason, the clothes will need to be rewashed.  However, that probably would not be a normal occurance, and would not necessarily be limited to the Duet front load washer.  Some have complained of a smell that can develop in the washer as well from shutting it before it is completely dry, but we have not had that problem.  However, we do use ours on a daily basis and do not completely shut the door - just allow it to rest in a closed position without actually causing it to latch.  However, there are kitchen staples that can help with this problem or you could buy the Affresh product that is on the market now should this become a problem for you.

We have had our Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer for about 4 months now and I can say, I love it! I can fit about 18-20 towels and about the same amount of jeans in one load!!! I had heard of people, who bought front load washers, complain about the fact that their clothes came our wrinkled or in a tangled mess, but that doesn't seem to be the same for me, at least not with the Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer. I like the fact that it tells you exactly how many minutes you have left, of course that is subject to change if it has trouble balancing the load, but none the less it DOES indeed tell you how long you have to wait. I also like the fact that it has a fan fresh cycle that keeps a fan on your clothes if you happen to not be at home or in bed when the wash is done. This cycle keeps your clothes for getting stinky and mildewy if it is a warm day and you are not able to tend your laundry immediately after it is done. I have been pleased with this washer so far and hope it holds up to our family's heavy use. I would recommend it as a washer to all who want quality.

We purchased this washing machine after wanting to cut down on our energy bills. This washing machine went far beyond our expectations! It uses far less water and the spin cycle gets the clothes to where they are just damp so the drying time is shorter. I love all the options on this machine as well. It has a quick wash option that take less than thirty minutes for the whole cycle. There are also buttons to add a prewash and/or an extra rinse to whatever cycle you wish. It also has a "Whitest Whites" cycle that gets our white very clean. I love the digital countdown so that I know exactly how long each cycle will take. This washing machine is easy to use. The only thing that I have against it is it's loud when it is in the spinning cycle, but that may be because it is on a pedestal and just not balanced correctly. Overall great value for your money! It will cut down on energy consumption and probably pay itself back over time. We love this washing machine.

My washer broke after 10 years.  It was too expensive to repair.  So I had to go out and look for a new washer.  I did a ton of research and found this Whirlpool.  It not only washes my king size sheet, but other items too!  It is HUGE!  I love how I can get all my laundry done in 2 loads.  I love the steam option, oxy clean option, afresh option, and the fan.  This is my dream washer

As an owner of many washing machines, the Whirlpool Duet will be last one I will buy.  If I outlast the machine, I will definetely buy another. My husband is in the health industry and the Sanitize setting insures his clothes are free of contaminants. The Whitest White setting, truly makes socks and whites, white!
