I have very hard water, the inside of my dishwasher was always orange, really bad rust stains. This Dishwasher cleaner works great, I couldn't believe how clean my dishwasher was after I used it. Like brand new! And it stayed clean after a lot of washes.

We own a whirlpool front loader washing machine and it calls for affresh washing machine cleaner. When the washing machine senses it is dirty it tells us to use affresh to clean it and we always do. When we use it, the light goes off but I can't tell in the cleanliness of my clothes they don't seem cleaner or the smell from my washing machine isn't a clean refreshing smell it still smells normal. I guess this works but it's not like amazing you really can't tell to be honest. It seems a little pricey but if it extends the life of my washer I will keep purchasing I think next time I might try tide washing machine cleaner though...sorry affresh but I wish it had a smell to show that it's clean. This product has no smell and when you put it in the washer the whole tablet doesn't even dissolve it just seems wasteful almost like I'm wasting half a tablet but you can't reuse it because when you pick it up it crumbles in your hand

I have an LG front-loading washer, which has the typical "green" mildewy smell to it, in spite of the fact that I leave the door open in between washings. The theory is that if you run the tub-cleaning cycle once a month and run these tub-cleaning tablets through the cycle, the mildew will be killed, and that smell will not permeate the washer or your clothes. I've been using Affresh, as it's the first product I saw on the shelves where I was shopping. But I've noticed that one Affresh a month is not doing the job. I might get one or two loads of laundry done before I can smell the green smell again. The packaging says that if the mildew is really bad, you should run the cleaning cycle a couple of times in a row, and I've done that as well. It seemed to work better, but the product is pretty expensive if you have to use two tablets every time you want to clean up the washer, not to mention the amount of water it uses when you have to do the tub cleaning cycle over and over again. I'm going to try another product when I get a chance, and maybe after trying what else is out there I'll find that this product is as good as it gets. For the moment, I'm considering it satisfactory only because it does seem to work if you use two tablets and are consistent with it. Other than that, I don't think it's a really effective solution. The manufacturers need to keep working on this issue.

I have used this product several times since I purchased my GE top loader & have found it very easy to use & cheaper than Tide. I have no odor in my machine although I have forgotten to leave the top up. The tub has always looked shinier and cleaner after each use. I do not let the machine choose the water level to use ( I always put it on super load size rather than auto fill & make sure the water temp. selector is on HOT to make sure the tablet dissolves entirely & the water goes as high as the top of the agitator will allow. ) I buy the three tablet package. Over all, I have been very satisfied with my results using this product & would highly recommend to anyone who has an HE washer.

I was told I need this to clean my HE washer, I use it as I was directed and so far, have had no problems with odors or moisture in my washer. Product has a nice clean scent, and doesn't take long to use this cycle on the washer. Reasonably priced to keep your washer working effectively.

I have had HE washers since they came out. I would never think of not dropping my tablet in once a month. My washer even has an "AFFRESH" setting. It gets all the things we don't see out, leave the washer smelling cleaner,plus it cleans out the mechanicals too. It is an awesomne tool to keeping your expensive HE washers working well & will keep saving you money but not having to deal with reapirs for improper working parts.

I've used several different products to periodically clean my washing machine (usually when I'm tempted by a coupon), but none of them compare to Affresh. After using Affresh, my washing machine smells fresh and clean for approximately 100 loads of laundry. This is particularly important for those of us with front loading washing machines, as they can tend to smell bad if you leave the door shut between washes. Affresh neutralizes this smell, cleans the drum very well, and helps my washing machine work properly. I love this product!

affresh is for the washing machine it removes odor-causing residue and and mildew. It is good for all washers but you really need them in the front loader.  I found out about them when I was having problems with my machine with the mold and mildew this stuff works great.  Just once a month to keep the mildew away.  Also septic tank safe.

I have a Maytag top loading washer which is approximately seven years old. My washer has never smelled badly, but it has mold in the hollow part of the agitator where the fabric softener flows through. I was told to leave my washer lid open after each use, to dilute the fabric softener, and to run a tablet of affresh through a cycle every once in a while. I purchased a package of affresh which contained three individually wrapped tablets. The instructions state that by using affresh once a month, it will keep the washer clean and fresh by removing odor causing residue as well as cleaning mold and mildew stains. It didn't touch the mold in the hollow center of my agitator. My husband had to wrap a cloth around a knife and scrape the hardened fabric softener which was filled with mold from the insides of this cylinder. Affresh certainly does smell fresh and I have a package sitting next to me as I type. The scent is so strong that I am coughing, my eyes are tearing and burning, and I am hoarse from the phlegm this odor is producing. I must hurry and complete this review before I croak or drown in my phlegm. I apologize for the grossness, but this stuff is really strong! Anyone who has a sensitivity to chemicals will most certainly have exacerbated symptoms. The directions state to place a tablet into your washer (without clothes) and run a normal cycle with a hot water setting. Other than making my laundry room smell fresh, I didn't notice a thing it did to my washer. The sticky, moldy fabric softener residue is still clinging to the inside of the agitator and my husband will have to clean it out by hand again. I do not think I will purchase affresh again. I can't remember the cost, but I know it was a ridiculous amount to pay for three tablets. **Caution:** May irritate eyes. (I can vouch for that; even in two enclosed packages) May irritate skin. Do not get in eyes. Do not get on skin or clothing. Keep out of reach of children. Thank you for reading my review.

So anyone who has owned their front loading washer for a sigificant period of time can tell you that after a while the washer develops a strange musty smell.  I was not thrilled when this happened since we had spent so much money on our wonderful washer!  What is that coming from? Little did I realize that you needed to leave the door of the washer open after running a load to make sure that it dries out completely to avoid this issue.  Makes sense since the door creates a water tight seal but I just had not thought about that.  Now I know better.  I went to see my appliance guy and see what to do about this issue.  He handed me a bag of affresh washer cleaner tablets to take home.  They are simple to use.  Just pop one in and run a normal load with hot water.  If you have an odor present already it tells you to run 3 consecutive loads this way.  A real waste of hot water and energy in my opinion.  I was not impressed with how they cleaned my washer and would not recommend them.  Just learn to keep you door open after loads.  Problem solved.
