We will be returning

5

We just returned from five days at the campground. This was our first trip, but won't be our last. Everyone was very welcoming. One of the reasons we picked it was it is dog friendly. Our girls (the dogs) loved it and the staff was wonderful to them. The staff was constantly working on something or cleaning the sites as people left. I also loved the fact that there was no cell service and the internet is limited. The beach access is so close and easy and kept clean. The only drawback for us was the amount of people coming in the day before we left to head home. As it was going into Labor Day weekend I realize this was to be expected but it made for a very busy day. If we had been thinking we would have left a day early. However I can't wait to return.

UNDER NEW MANAGMENT

5

Please read the reviews and my comments.  We have addresed every complaint and fired the managment.  We had no idea what was going on. Thanks to sites like this we were able to discover and correct the very ligetimate complaints. Otherwise we would never have known.  If you aare  not treated like the owner, ask the manager Christina for my number and let me know what I can do for you. We have a 50 acre Campground with over 3/8 mile and over 20 acres of beautiful private beach.  You can camp along a year round creek under the trees, on the grass in the park area or on or near the beach.  Hope to see you soon. Extremely disappointed!

**I am sickened by how I now feel about a campground that I had always loved coming to.** We were planning a great vacation with family and friends in a group campsite. We had paid for the campsite in full and were awaiting the arrival of the rest of our clan. The last of the bunch arrived at 9:15pm. They approached the gate and was told that the gate closed at 9pm and they would have to find another campground or hotel. Our friends explained that they had just driven 4 hours with 2 young children (4 & 2 years of age), that the campsite had already been paid for in full and that we were waiting for their arrival at the campsite. The manager refused the family admittance. They asked the manager if they could alert us that they had arrived safely because they didn't have cell service...he again refused. So as we sat around the campfire waiting for them, we were unaware that they had been turned around to find a hotel another 30 minutes away. The next morning the family arrived at 11:30am to meet up with us again. And again the manager would not let them in until 12pm. When our friends asked if they again could alert us that they had arrived safely, the manager stated that they would have to pay an $8 day pass and a $20 deposit. They gave him $40 to cover the fees, but the manager returned their money stating ***"I don't need your money, you need my campsite. You can come back at noon and maybe I will let you in.*"** Dumbstruck, they left yet again and returned at noon to finally gain admittance. We spoke to some other campers and they stated that they had similar problems with the rude manager. When I arrived home, I started reading reviews and found that we were among many families that had problems with the manager. As soon as Craig's management practices came into place, the campground changed for the worse. I have been camping here for 33 years, and have had some of my fondest childhood memories here. Now that I am grown, I have been creating new memories here with my own children. However, I am so discusted with the manager's practices that those memories have been tainted and sadly I don't know if any more memories will come from this campground.

The rudest staff I have ever met!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I were staying in Mendocino for our 22nd wedding anniversary, and decided to checkout some of the local campgrounds for the future. We pulled in and missed the check in office, and was stopped very quickly by a very rude older man.He asked why we didn't check in.I told him I was sorry and turned around. The ladies were just as rude as they gave me a visitors pass. They then told me I had only 10 minutes and not to step foot out of the vehicle. We thought it looked nice in some of the areas and were writing down some of our favorite site #s.On our way out and back up the hill, we were greeted by the grumpy old man again. He was driving down the middle of the road on his riding lawn mower waving his hands at us.He then proceeded to tell us we were driving to fast and making too much dust, and was very rude about the way he spoke to us.We never went faster then 5 miles an hour.I was so angry with the way they were treating us that I stopped by and told the 2 ladies that as long as the grumpy old man worked here that we would never stay here or recommend it to anyone.Their comment was,(everyone is entitled to their own opinion)I have never wrote a review, good or bad, but this one was needed.STAY AWAY IF POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

**To the Point** Heading to Crescent City, California we decided to chill at Westport Beach RV and Camping at 37700 North Highway 1 in Westport, CA. **A Closer View** I checked us in and found the manager not very hospitable however the woman at the small but well stocked store was very nice. This RV Park is located 17 miles north of Fort Bragg in a gorgeous spot on the Mendocino coast. The campground was deceivingly large. When we called we were asked if we wanted to stay inland or on the beach. We chose the latter and paid $44.00. We weren't right on the beach. The only way you'll get right on the beach is to tent. You can have fires on the beach. Westport Beach RV and Camping is located on 30 acres with a ¼ mile beach. We took a long walk one morning and found some nice nooks and crannies. The sites were big. They could have been cleaner i.e. they charge extra for dogs yet there was no sense of dog clean up! The same was true of the beach. We had a fire pit and picnic table. I saw a small but what looked like a new playground, volleyball court, horseshoes and shuffleboard court. There was firewood for sale, complimentary videos and fishing rods, clean bathrooms and though the literature says modem friendly that must mean there is a plug somewhere because we didn't have any access. We had the road behind us which made it less than quiet. There was a large group but they weren't rowdy. www.westportbeachrv.com. **Jo's Viewpoint** **I like it! but it was a little pricey compared to others in the same area.**   ** **
