DO NOT BUY ANY WESTINGHOUSE PRODUCTS!!!! First, let me preface this by saying I have NEVER posted a negative review. I am not one of those people that just can't be made happy or simply wants to complain over the smallest of things. However, this company has me so angry I am doing the only thing I can do to protect fellow consumers from the hassle I am going through. Last year we bought a Westinghouse TV. Prior to the warranty running out, the picture on the tv went out. It still had sound but no picture. According to the warranty, we had to mail the tv back to Westinghouse so they could look at it and send a replacement tv. After $90.00 in shipping cost and 6 weeks of waiting without a tv, Westinghouse sent a TV. This TV is obviously 3-4 years older than the tv we purchased. The replacement tv does not work properly. The screen flashes white every 10 seconds - like lightening flashing through your tv program - not only annoying but close to causing a seizure defect! The replacement TV had not even been looked at before they sent it or they would have known it was broken! I was livid. The tv also does not have all of the same options as the one we purchased, does not swivel, etc but Westinghouse swears it is comparable. It is the same size and it is a tv, so it is not like they sent us a 40" microwave! So I called their customer service line back - you can't talk to anyone at the actual corporate headquarters only the call center. The agent understood my frustration and agreed to send a prepaid packing slip and another replacement tv at the same time so that we would not incur additional shipping cost or have to wait another 6 weeks for the tv. 3 weeks later, still no label I called again. This time the agent just put through for a refund since we were having so many issues and were being completely ignored by the company. 2 weeks later I get an email saying I can't have a refund but if I file a new claim they will start the process over to repair and replace the tv. I re-filed the claim April 2 and today 5/16/15, I have never gotten a response. Furthermore, when I filed the new case I was told they would not provide the shipping label as promised and would not send a tv until they got this tv back and went through their process. This would make $180 in shipping on a $250 TV brand new???? I am sure in someone's world that makes sense. So I am still fighting with them. I am going to place this review on every site they advertise on. Save yourself the hassle and don't buy from a company that will not stand behind their own warranty and services customers by ignoring them and hoping they will go away. Shame on you Westinghouse!!!!

I live with my roommate and she bought this TV approximately three months ago. Its a good size TV for our apartment and it has a clear picture and good sound, just do not put up the volume too much it kind of vibrates a wee bit. Anyhow just the other day there was a power outage and the TV was plugged into the direct apartment outlet. BIGGEST mistake of her life. When we tried to turn it on it wouldn't even turn on at all. We even plugged it into a different circuit to see if it was the apartment not the TV but no luck. These TV's will fry if you do not plug them into a surge protector. It was devastating because it did not last that long sadly. The weird part is that all the other appliances that were directly plugged into the apartment worked just fine after the outage. Picture Quality Excellent picture quality! Sound Quality The sound vibrates a bit if you put up the volume too high. Durability It fried during an outage while the other appliances, the DVD player and XBOX were also directly plugged in but did not fry. Design It has a modern design, there are no buttons directly on the TV they are activated to the touch. Performance It is great for movie watching but thats all we ever did so it is the only thing I can compare it to.

I bought this Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42in LCD Television on black Friday. I wanted to upgrade from a 25 inch tv to a 42 inch one and I wanted to get one that was LCD. To me a TV is a very big purchase and is not to be bought on a whim but as I looked at the black Friday ads I knew that I wanted to find one and I knew that TV's would be cheap so I went out and stood in the long line to get into the store and I bought me one and I am very happy that I did because wow what a difference the size makes and the picture quality is much better than my 25 inch that I had before and still have until I give it to my granddaughter for her birthday that is coming up. Picture Quality The picture quality is great. It is very clear and makes everything look so much better. Sound Quality I like the sound quality. You do not have to turn the volumme up very much and still you can hear it just fine. Durability I have not had my Westinghouse TV for very long yet but it seems to be very durable. I have had no problem with it yet. Design The design is not much different than other tv's so there is not to much I can say about that. Performance I have not had a problem yet with my tv turning on or changing channels.

This is a good television. I would reccomend it if you have the money to spend. Get the warranty. Movies and television shows look great on the screen . You will be ready for the future and you can fit the tv anywhere you want it to go. it's slim ane thin whicj=h is a big plus. Changes channels kind of slowly like you push the button the wait a few seconds for it to actually change

Mine is a 32",  but none the less it is a very good tv.  It stays on most of the time and the cable is turned off and I have had no problems for over a year so far.  It has all the plugs that I need.  Works great for video games.  So easy my 9 year old can hook up his game no problem.   Great picture and takes up very little room.  Such a big difference from the old tube tv's.  What else can I say it is a great tv for the price.

When I first bought this television I thought it was great. However, if you pause your Tivo the image  will burn on to the screen within a very short time. At about close to the one year mark there were times that the television would not turn on. At a year and a half we could not get the television to turn on anymore. We called customer support and basically because there was no extended warranty our only hope was to call a service tech at 55.00 an hour and that wasn't a guarantee it could get fixed. We bought a new t.v., not a Westinghouse. This is good because it is cheap. If you barely use it then this might be the right idea for you. I would not play any video games on it, nor would I suggest using this product in conjunction with Tivo.

We had a very bad time with this tv.  It was a great price but only lasted for six months and completely died.  A service rep. came out and replaced some parts and it lasted for another 6 months and died again.  We returned it to the store and got a replacement of the same thing.  Once again, it only lasted for 6 months.  We returned it to the store and got a new brand.  This is really a disposable tv.  Might be good for a vacation home that you don't use very much, but not for everyday viewing!

This is a decent TV for the price, but if you can afford to pay little more I would go with one of the better known brands.  Westinghouse has not released any firmware updates to support all of the current sets.  There are features listed in the menus that can't be enabled.

Had my Westinghouse - TX-42F430S for 6 months...it has a great picture for the money, in the factory settings the blacks could be better, but fiddling with the picture settings has done wonders for that.. Color is excellent, sharpness is good except for analog channels from my cable provider, yet the same channels in 480P digital looked ok so it may be the signal..digital stations all look good..and 1080I looks great in sporting events and nature programs..DVD upconverts look great and best at 720P and Blue Ray looks great in 1080P..

    WE bought this amazing bargain at the "day after thanksgiving sale".  this is a great Television will all the frills that come with the other more expensive brand. we have had this Television for 2 months now and it works like any other good brand.  the sound quality is great and een the picture quality is better.  The size is just right!     The feautures are very good more than we ever thought.  we would definitley recommend this Television to all our friends  . its  a very sturdy and durable tv for the amount of abuse that it goes through at my place with  3 kids around it .  we did some research before we bought this television and found out that it has lasted them for many years.
