Mama's cooking!

I love my slow cooker, its sleek stainless steel exterior looks great. I use it several times a week. It is great for the summer - cook a whole meal without heating the entire kitchen. I am sitting here right now, salivating, smelling a delicious beef roast with potatoes and carrots. I set it up this morning and it is just about ready to eat. I love to set it up and let it do its own thing. Easily removable ceramic crock allows for easy cleanup. Just the right size for roast or a big pot of beans. Its great in the winter, too, walking in the door and smelling a pot a chili, ready to go. Not too big and not too small, its just the right size to sit on my kitchen counter. I don't know what I would do without it...yes, I do, I would go out and buy one!

My favorite small appliance!

The West Bend Crockery Cooker has been many places with me!  I have used it for single serving cooking on up to feeding a whole houseful.  It is very easy to use, just throw the ingredients in and select the heat setting.  I love using it for stews and soups in the fall and winter especially. I don't especially like the design, as it is a little old fashion for my tastes.  The interior cooking portion removes nicely for ease of cleaning, but fits together nicely for storage, moving and use.  The top can be a little difficult to keep clean and occasionally there's a bit of residue remaining on the interior, but only when he hand wash it.  If we put it in the dishwasher it cleans well.  It could just be washer of dishes error! It would be nice if it had a timer and delayed cooking feature, but for the price it is a great buy.  The lack of timer issue can be avoided by plugging it into a timer like the ones used when away from the house for an extended period of time.  Set it for when you want the cooker to turn on and off and you are ready to go!

The West Bend crock pot has served me well.

I'm a big fan of crock pots.  I especially love that I can buy very cheap meats and know that if I cook them in the crock pot that they'll turn out as tender and tasty as higher priced cuts.  I've had plenty of crock pots through the years and wouldn't want to be without one.  One thing I won't compromise on is a lift-out container for easier cleaning.  This model does have that feature.  However, for whatever reason, this crock seems harder to clean than some of the ones I've had in the past.  Food seems to stick more.  The outer heating surface is nice looking, and fairly easy to clean.  It doesn't show fingerprints as much as I thought it might.  The big difference between this crock pot and others I've had in the past is that it seems to run hotter and cook food more quickly.  For me, this is a mostly positive thing, since I have more time to figure out what I want to cook and get everything thawed and chopped.  I've occasionally overcooked things in this crock pot, though, which I've almost never done before.  It just takes a little adjusting.  In general, I find this to be a nice looking, reasonably priced crock pot which has served me well.

Would buy time and again!

I love, love, love this crockpot.  I've had it for several years now and it's great.  I love that I can set it on high when I leave for work and after 4 or 5 hours, it will automatically readjust and set itself to the keep warm setting.  When you leave at 7 in the morning and don't eat until 7 at night, that is an absolute "must have" feature. This crockpot has never burned anything, never had any issues with it at all.  It's literally just set and go and don't worry about it.  I typically use crockpot liners and that helps a lot with the clean up, but I probably use this thing about once or twice a week, more in the winter time and it hasn't failed me yet.  Plus it's large enough to do a several pound roast or lots of soup for freezing and keeping for later.  We've made honey baked ham, soup, enchiladas, you name it and if something does taste right, it's never been the fault of the crockpot, only the cook!

Love this West Bend crockpot

I had purchased this crockpot on sale, and figured that I remembered my mom used one when I was a child for meals, so what the heck I will try it. It has paid for itself ten times over. I use this crockpot in the fall and winter atleast one time a week. It is great to take a inexpensive cut of beef and make it into a very moist and delicious meal. It make the meats very tender. I love it for stews, roasts, soups, chili, vegetables, and have even used it to slow cooker homemade baby food. It has a removeable pot for very easy cleaning, I usually spray my pot with nonstick spray prior to cooking and let it soak overnight. No scraping or scouring to clean with pot. It has a very pretty and stylish stainless steel base and great temperature controls. There are many great cookbooks with different ideas for a quick and cheap dinner, so the possibilites are endless. All you have to do in throw the meal in the moring, set the timer and forgot about it until dinner time.

This cooker's temperature settings are a crock!

I LoVe almost EVERYTHING about this crock pot!  The stainless steel style is pleasing, the size is perfect, the removeable bowl makes for extremely easy clean up, and the glass lid makes peeking at your dish convenient...but, the temperature settings leave A LOT to be desired. Since I have a large family and I have a full time job, I especially like to start meals in the morning before we leave for the day.  We are usually gone for approximately 9 hours.  After coming home to burned dinner a couple of times...I finally figured out that I HAVE to leave things cooking on the "Keep Warm" setting.   I've also learned that I have to add a little extra liquid to the ingredients.  The "Low" setting seems to really cook things on "High".  I've NEVER cooked anything on "High" even if at home during the cooking process.  I have only used the "High" setting for reheating soups, stews, and casseroles.

West Bend slow cooker is a terrific investment

A friend recommended I buy the West Bend slow cooker & I couldn't be happier with it.  Dry beans cooked in this cooker are the best we've eaten since we used a wood stove and iron pot to cook them all day.  During the summer I can set the cooker outside & keep the kitchen cool.  The unit is compact so that it doesn't take up valuable storage space, it heats up quickly, and temperature is easily regulated.  The glass lid serves also as a serving dish.  This is one of my favorite small appliances and I use it several times a week.

West Bend Crockery Cooker is a lifesaver!!

I have always enjoyed using a crock pot, because I am so busy and I can put my meal on in my "West Bend Crockery Cooker" in the morning and when it is time for dinner, it is ready to serve and eat. I can also put everything in one pot for more convenience and not have to worry about messing up additional dishes and pots and pans. I also don't have to worry about rushing home to fix dinner, now I can rush home and enjoy the meal I have NOT slaved over all day. Easy preperation, no hassle cooking and tastes great. I think every family or couple should own a West Bend Crockery Cooker. The cooker that makes life a lot easier!!

My West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker is the best

5

I think that the West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker is one of the best inventions that there has ever been and here is why I say that. When I was a little girl and growing up my Mother would have something ready for me to eat when I got home from school or came in from playing outside with my friends. My Mother did not work and so she had all day to cook and clean and I didn't think that she minded having to cook for long periods of time. I didn't know it them but I am sure she would have rather been doing something else instead of cooking all day but I was little and what did I know.  She would have supper ready when my dad came home and we would all sit down and eat but what if one of my brothers was not home yet. Well then that meant that she would have to save some out for him in another container and would have to warm it up latter when he got home. What a hassle that was and I'm sure it did not make my father happy either. Well a lot of time has gone by and I am all grown up now and have a family of my own to look after and cook for. I learned a lot of great things from my Mother and have passed some of those great things on to my granddaughter. One thing that I am sure of that would have made my Moms day a whole lot easier would have been if she would have had a West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker. I am sure that she would have loved how it would have given her more time to do other things that she enjoyed doing like reading and making crafts and putting puzzels together which we did together sometimes. Well in my household we lead a very busy life and are not always able to sit down at the same time either and eat our supper. This is where my West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker comes in very handy. You see all I have to do is get up in the morning and start my food cooking and when I get home at night then our supper is done. Another very good thing about the West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker is if everyone is not home at the same time which seems to happen a lot in my household due to running late or practice or a meeting or something else then the food stays warm until everyone is at home and ready to eat. Another thing that is good about the West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker is that since it is a slow cooker I am able to buy less expensive cuts of meat and still be able to have it come out tasting like it cost a lot of money. With the way things are in the world right now and money being as tight as it is every little bit helps and this way when I see a cheaper cut of meat that is on sale I can buy extra meat and cook it in my West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker and it comes out great every time. Having the West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker has saved me alot of money because like I said I can buy extra meat when it is on sale and I don't have to worry that there will be nothing to eat. I don't have to run to the store every day and buy something that can be made quick or I don't have to stop at the nearest fast food place and try and think what everyone will want and also hope that it all stays hot until I get home and everyone has a chance to eat it. With all of the money that I save by buying less expensive cuts of meat I am able to save some money and either catch up on some bills that need paying or I am also able to put some away so that we can do some fun things as a family and even be able to take a trip or two. Some of the other great features about the West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker is the fact that it has a twenty hour shut off timer which means if I don't get home in time and no one else is home to turn if off then it will turn off on its own and I don't have to worry that my food will burn or there will be a fire or anything like that. That to me means a whole lot and makes me feel a lot safer when I am not at home to watch over what I am cooking for supper. Another good thing is that the inside comes out so it can go straight from the crockpot to the table without have to be put in another dish. That also makes the cleanup a lot easier too. And if there is every any left overs which in my house there is usually never any left overs but if there is then all you have to do is put them in a storage bowl and put in the fridge and the cleanup of the West Bend Electronic Crockery Cooker is very easy. It can even be put in the dish washer.

I love it and can't live without it.

I love my crockpot.  It does so much exspecialy in the winter when we are all so busy.  I love that it has the take out linner.  It works great for putting on the table at dinner time and that attribute also makes it great for cleaning.  There has been times when the low setting on the crock pot still seem a little to hot.  Even the keep warm setting seems to continue cooking the food as if on high.  Maybe its just me expecting too much from the cooker but I would not think a minute about that little down side.  One con to many pros in my opinion.  I love using a crock pot and would not change it for the world.  If you have a good recipe and a day to let it cook this thing is the greatest.
