My Favorite Weight Watchers Meal

5

Weight Watchers Frozen Santa Fe Rice is the best tasting meal from their frozen food line. I have tried in the past and loved it. When I re-joined Weight Watchers last summer, I added it to my list of foods to have in the freezer. I could eat it as a meal or split it with my husband as a side dish with a meal entree and added vegetables. The flavor of this dish is very distinctive and enjoyable, especially if you like foods with just a hint of heat from the chilies. It is a terrific combination of spicy and mild (from the cheese and sour cream). I have tried to replicate the flavors on my own, but I can't get close to what I taste from the Santa Fe Rice. My only complaint is something that can't be controlled: when Weight Watchers changed the program, the points of this meal went up (most of the frozen products points were raised). That was a big disappointment to me as I am more careful with my food choices, so that I can maximize my daily points. I will however continue to eat this meal as a special treat.

Santa Fe Rice and Beans -- like a Tex-Mex restaurant!

The Weight Watcher's Santa Fe Style Rice and Beans frozen entree is my favorite of all the Weight Watcher's frozen meals -- I eat it for lunch at least once a week!  I love creamy, rich tasting entrees and I like this best with some counted - out baked tortilla chips or baked Doritos.  I eat it with those as a dip. The beans are never mushy and the rice is always tender.  There is just the right amount of seasonings; it is never too spicy.  Once in a while I need to stir it extra well so the sauce blends in, and I like to add a little salt (unless the tortilla chips I eat it with are extra salty).  It is even good when I get called away from lunch and it cools -- I just reheat it in the microwave for a few seconds. I like the fact that I can see the bits of zucchini in it and it seems like something I would make at home if I had time.  There are not many "diet"-type frozen foods I like -- Weight Watchers got this one right!

Absolutely satisfying, and a great value!

In my humble opinion, this meal is absolutely the tastiest of all the Weight Watcher's Smart Ones frozen meals.  This one holds up really well to being cooked in a microwave oven.  It's very hearty and contains a lot of fiber, so it keeps you full for a long time.  The sauce is really creamy and delicious, and you can actually taste the cheese!  I really enjoy spreading the beans and rice on a couple of whole-wheat flour tortillas for an even more satisfying lunch!  These are sometimes on sale at my local market, and even at the regular price, the value is excellent.  These are actually less expensive than the meals with meat, but just as satisfying!  Also there are other frozen meal brands that list Weight Watcher's points that cost more, even though this is the WW endorsed brand!  You can also find coupons for these on other Weight Watcher's products, as well as in their magazines and source material if you are a member of the program!

This tastes really good.

The Weight Watchers Santa Fe Rice and Beans frozen meal tastes really good.  I am not normally a fan of rice and beans (mostly beans) but I really do like the taste of this.  It's filling and satisfying and I could eat it every night and not get tired of it.  It cooks to a nice consistency in the microwave -- beans beans and rice firm and not overcooked.  It's a little spicy but not too spicy and seasoned just right.  I really don't know of any other similar item to compare it to because it's the first time I've ever tried a frozen rice and bean dinner but I'm sure this is one of the best out there.  Weight Watchers products are relatively inexpensive, healthy and convenient.  If you are following the Weight Watchers the "points" are marked on the box.  Just add a side salad and you are good to go for dinner (or lunch).  Give this one a try because I'm sure you will like it as much as I do.

Tasty WW frozen meal- great for quick lunch

The Santa Fe Rice and beans frozen dinner is a great one.  I really enjoy this as its pretty spicy for a frozen dinner.  It's also very low in points value.  I can eat these day after day at work and not get bored with them.  I also find it extremely filling during lunch at work if I pair it with a large green salad with oil based dressing.  The little beans are very tasty and full of protein.  It also has surprisingly a lot of chicken in it and the chicken stays moist.  The seasonings are spicy and strong the way I like them so the meal still has some kick to it even though its a frozen meal.  I find the vegetables to be rather sparse and if I'm at home and have more time to prepare food on the stove I often cook up a can of mixed vegetables and throw that in there because it seems to be able to use more vegetables.  This doesn't add to the points value at all but contributes to the healthiness of the meal and helps fill me up longer too! I recommend this as a regular go to lunch for the office because the beans and chicken can keep me full up to 6-7 hrs after I eat this while working in a busy hospital!

could scare away a vampire with the breathe this gives you!

Sante fe beans and rice has been my most favoirte weight watcher dinner for years!!! It's filling with lots of rice and beans and the cheese is great. It has nice flavor unlike some diet dinners that tend to taste bland and like card board. This defiently has lots of flavor.  I could eat one of these everyday. Even my four year old loves these! This is one weightwatcher dinner I can rely on to be good!!!! I don't like this prodcut for the end result it gives you. My mom always warned me to NEVER eat one of these the same day I would go on a date. This meal gives you the woooorrrrst garlic breathe and your doomed after eatting it. You can brush your teeth ten times, eat a whole pack of mint gum or gurgle mouth wash by the bottle, but you will still have that horrible very garlicy bad breathe lingering. It's the most rank smell on earth. Even my daughter has it. I always know when my daughter comes back from grandmas after eatting it...great but gives you bad breathe

Versatile, tasty, low-fat dish

I'm a lifetime Weight Watchers member and this frozen meal is one of my favorites in their line. It always gets rave reviews at our meetings because it's tasty, low-fat, and very satisfying. It also manages to have a nice creaminess to it that is hard to achieve with low fat cheeses! I like to stock up on these when they go on sale and then make different things out of them - I don't always use it for a meal in and of itself. Some ways to try the Santa Fe Rice and Beans: - **As a dip** - pour it in a bowl and serve it as a dip with low-fat chips and salsa - **Quesadillas** - grab two whole wheat (high fiber) tortillas, put this in between and grill in a pan with cooking spray - **Burrito or enchiladas** - wrap it up in a tortilla with some sauteed veggies, extra chicken, avocado salsa, low-fat sour cream. Microwave the burrito or make enchiladas by putting it in a baking dish and covering with enchilada sauce.

weight watchers santa fe rice and beans is alittle to watery

The weight watchers santa fe rice and beans is alittle to watery for my tastes. The flavor was just ok, it could have been alittle more spicy. I was not happy after I ate this meal because it did not satisfy me. I really like the weight watchers meals and take them for my lunch and dinner while at work. They are usually tasty and satisfing, for an easy no fuss meal. Not only do they portion control but count my calories as well. The santa fe beans and rice left me wanting to eat something else. It just fell flat. I will not be purchasing this meal again.

I love the santa fe rice and beans by weight watchers.  It's filling and healthy.  I take these to work with me often.  I have to eat on the run and sometimes i don't get to eat when I would like to.  I know if I have this meal, it will stick with me untill I get a chance to take another break.  Spice is just right.

my favorite weight watchers meal

5

i have tried many, if not most weight watchers frozen meals and this is definitely my absolute favorite. this one fills me and is 1 point!! thats ridiculous. i have used it as a side for chicken, wrapped in a tortilla as a burrito, as a dip, or as a meal in and of itself. anyway, its practically perfect! and it doesn't taste like a frozen food. many other frozen foods have a weird metallic or processed taste, but not the weight watchers santa fe rice and beans. its also affordable, which is important in these tough economic times. and its really easy to make and is really quick to make. its one of my go to frozen foods that i am never concerned about. and when it is cooking, it smells so good! not like you were microwaving it at all. when i make it at work, everyone asks what am i eating and then they are surprised when i tell them. many of my coworkers have also gone out and bought it, and loved them too!
