This is a get down to business blender for heavy duty blending. Durability We choose this blender because my son required a heavy duty blender for making protein smoothies. This meant heavy duty ice crushing. This is a no fuss ON/OFF heavy duty glass construction that can take a beating. This means it can take the pressure of blending whole fruits fresh or frozen into your smoothies with just the right amount of ice cream or ice to make these taste professionally made. The glass blender makes clean up so much easier than plastic that can scratch and fade in the dishwasher. It is also hear resistant if you want to make hot recipes. With it's die cast base and stainless steel blades there are no plastic pieces to crack like my old bar blender. When that blender somehow followed my son to his new residence we bought the exact replacement model for my protein shake requirements due to a recent illness. Highly recommend.

Excellent, excellent reliable blender. It has a great motor and a great style that suits just about any decor. It's very strong. I'm sorry to say it just died, but after 25 years of frequent use for ice crushing, making smoothies, blending soups, cocktails, etc. Yes, 25 years! I think it probably would still be going strong, except for the past several years it's been overseas and had to be used with a voltage converter, and I think that sort of messes up the electricals and wears things down so they fail. But I'll be buying another one. This is a lifetime blender, not one of those cheap things you have to replace every couple of years. Blending Power Crushes big ice cubes, no problem. Blends even very thick mixtures easily due to strong motor. Versatility Multiple speeds, lots of choice. Ease of Cleaning Perfect Ease of Use Never had a problem, no repairs needed, in 25 years of frequent use. I would recommend the waring pro blender to everyone. Waring has a a great history of quality products. The waring pro blender will blend thick soups to crush ice. It is great for making milkshakes and smoothies. Blending Power It will blend anything thin or thick. It will even blend ice.

We have used this blender for a few of years. The motor is still going strong. The pitcher is solid and the measurements are easy to read. Of course, being glass, it is not completely indestructable ... we broke ours but ordered another from the company to replace it. It blends ice well and I even use it to grind small amounts of grains. Blending Power Gets the job done Ease of Cleaning The pitcher is big enough to get your hand into and around the blades. I received this as a birthday gift! I was so pleased with it! It is very durable and effective in chopping ice. Cleaning was a cinch. Taking the blender a part for cleaning is not required. You just run it filled with hit soapy water for two minutes and done. The aesthetics are great, too.

I also own a Waring Professional Bar Blender (PBB204), and this Professional Kitchen Blender (WPB04) does a fairly good job at matching its performance. The Kitchen model costs less, still has the glass carafe and is able to blend whole frozen fruits with fresh fruits and juice. This model, though, has a blade assembly that comes apart like a traditional blender, and I personally like the one-piece approach better -- though I have to say many people are more comfortable being able to handle individual components. This blender is at least five years old (I inherited it last year) and is still going strong. I make smoothies in this blender nearly every day, and I've never had an issue. I'd recommend the Bar Blender first, but this Kitchen Blender will save you nearly half the cost and still get the job done.

I love this blender. It's so easy to use, and even easier to take apart and clean in all of the little cracks and crevices. The glass carafe is heavy, which was listed here as a con, but I see this as a pro... I've dropped it while washing it, and didn't even worry the slightest about it cracking or breaking. It has a very "industrial" look, which I personally like, because it gives it a modern feel in our modern kitchen. The only thing that I would change is that if you don't hold the lid down TIGHT, it has potential to leak. I am expecting a baby in September, and I plan on using this to make all of our baby food AND my smoothies! All and all I give this four stars, because it's awesome, but you do have to stand next to the blender and hold the lid when you're using it.

I honestly cannot remember when I bought this blender, but I think it's been at least 2 years.  We use it every day, often several times a day.  My husband complains that it is so loud that it wakes him up in the morning, but to me the sound is not a big factor.  I love how it chops up frozen fruit and ice-- As long as you use enough liquid, your smoothies will turn out great!  I also love the fact that it doesn't have a 12 speeds (completely unnecessary, in my opinion).  It has two speeds.  The fast one is REALLY fast, and is great for those drinks that you add cream into... it will whip them up so they are very airy and frothy.  It is also easy to clean.  I put all of the parts into the dishwasher (except for the base, of course).  If we are making more smoothies that day, we just rinse it out with hot water and then put it in the dishwasher at the end of the day.  It is important to know that the bottom screws on counter-clockwise, rather than clockwise like you would expect.

My brother encouraged me to buy this blender. His friend uses the same one in his Smoothie Business and I couldn't be happier. The design is very simple and easy to use. The heavy duty and weighted base and motor allows for no-worry loading. The all glass pitcher is easy to clean and is extremely durable. Unlike other blenders, you won't find any settings like "frappe", "whip", "stir" or anything besides "on" and "off"......... just two settings and that is enough.  The lack of a multi-part base that detaches like many other blender designs eliminates liquid seeping and cleanup hassle. The stainless steel base finish is a definite plus when trying to keep things clean in the kitchen. The only difficulty is removal of the blade. You need a wrench, but fortunately I haven't had any need to do this and I've owned the blender for 5 years and have made probably 1500-2000 smoothies. This blender is a little more expensive than other brands, but worth it.
