I love this product, but, surprisingly, not for its intended purpose. I don't know how I came to discover this, but aloe vera gel is amazing for removing makeup. I just squirt a little bit of this gel onto a cotton ball, and rub it around my eye area. My makeup quickly breaks down and remove like a dream. The great thing about using aloe vera on the skin is that it jam-packed with antioxidants that are amazing for the skin, like vitamin c and vitamin e. In addition to this gel being amazing for skin care and makeup removal, aloe vera is also amazing for calming the burning sensation you get from a sunburn. This particular brand of aloe vera seems to work the best for relieving the pain I get when I have a sun burn. I also really enjoy the packaging of this product. The pump attachment makes it incredibly easy to access the product without making a mess. I find squeeze bottles, like most aloe gels are packaged in, to be a pain. The pump on this one, however, is great.

I've very fair skinned so I can be out in the sun for half an hour and by the time I get back inside I'm as red as a lobster. I hate the tight, dry feeling sunburned skin has so I buy Aloe Vera gel in bulk starting in spring. I've never had any other product as effective at soothing a sunburn. Scent Aloe Vera doesn't have much of a smell but the scent it does give off is mild and kind of refreshing. Absorption I assume because of the gel consistency, the aloe very gets absorbed very quickly into your skin which is nice because you don't want to spend a lot of time rubbing a burned area of flesh. Be careful because it almost always leaves your skin feeling sticky. Effectiveness The effect of the aloe is almost instant. As soon as you put it on it soothes and cool down any burned area. I usually apply it sever times after a sunburn just to feel that instant bit of relief that follows using it. If you apply it a few times a day you will see that your skin is noticeably less red and painful by the time you wake up the next morning.

Every person, every family, should have a bottle of the walgreens aloe vera gel in their refrigerator. I have one since a few years back and it works like a charm if you burn yourself. Either put it on right then, or ice, and then put the aloe. This will keep the skin soothe and preven the skin from becoming a bubble, bursting or leading to infection and scarring. The gel gets cold in the fridge and feels very good on the burn. I discovered the aloe vera gel a few years back when I got a severe sun burn on my face. I would get big red patches like a bite and one part my face was torn and you could see some blood too. Sun poisoning. I thought I'd have scars. I didn't know what to do. By chance I got the aloe. Put it in the fridge. Felt good. So I applied daily. It was all gone in a couple weeks. I have nothing from it but a recollection in my mind and a deep desire for everyone to have this wonderful gel for their safety!
