Fantastic for a small yard

4

If you fit a certain set of needs, the Worx mower is a great choice.  I could probably mow my small yard twice on a single charge--a yard up to a quarter acre should be do-able.  It doesn't exactly have a much power as a comperable gas mower, but it seems to utilize the power it has better--the duct that the blade turns in focuses to airflow, sucking up and neatly chopping up the grass, without sending up a cloud of choking dust.  As long as you keep the blade sharp, it cuts very well (I've left my grass until it got up to 6 or 8 inches, and it still plowed through it, although one wouldn't want to use this for really thick brush), and if you want to mulch the grass back onto your lawn, it cuts the grass into very small, compostable pieces.  It maneuvers pretty well, although it's pretty long so cornering can get a bit tricky.  Worx products have a ton of great ergonomic and other adjustments; the single-lever mechinism for adjusting cutting height is a marvel.  The bag IS a little small, but, because it cuts up the grass so finely, it seems like quite a bit of grass can be stuffed into it.  I particularly love the quiet operation and the ease of starting (you do have to be able to lug around the 30 pound battery, although it is nice that you can keep and charge it indoors).  It's a bit pricey, but you'll save some of that in gas cost.  All in all, if you think this will fit your needs, it is a great product.
