I purchased this salt lamp based on possible health benefits, that it would clean the air in an environment. Well, I haven't seen any benefits to that claim. I keep the lamp in my office. It looks like a huge pink and white salt crystal. I could not get over how heavy it is. It weighs in at 5 pounds. Everyone comments on it and wants to touch it. When you have the light cut on, it does provide a calming effect. After you have the light on for a while, it also it a pretty good hand warmer. I like having a piece of nature on my desk. I would have thought that the hot light bulb, on the inside, would make the salt melt a little bit. The lamp is the same as it was a year ago. The bulb is easy to replace and it is the size of a large Christmas tree bulb. They are sold in most hardware stores. It sits very stable on any flat service. It is more of a decoration and conversation piece. Its fun.

Overall, I like my Himalayan Salt Lamp. I am unsure of the claims for being a natural Air Purifying device. I have used traditional plug in air purifiers, with interchangeable filters, in the past. WIth those, I can actually see the dust/dirt that is being removed from the air. However, there is no way to physically view that with this lamp. With that being said, the lamp is very pretty and calming. It reminds me of being in a spa or other quiet and serene location. The design of the lamp, color and wood base make it look fancier than a traditional lamp. The dimmer switch helps control the amount of light. I would recommend it to others as a cute lamp or conversation piece, but not sure about recommending it for purifying.

There is nothing not to like about this charming lamp. Made from an actual chunk of salt in it's natural color. Each one is slightly different and quite unique. I have three in my house and I would love to get more. They are perfect as night lights because the light is a war soft glow. Never harsh on the eyes and always inviting. The Salt Lamps are perfect for soft mood lighting in any living room or den. Quiet corners of the house can be great for a Salt Lamp. They have small light bulbs and do not use very much electricity. The Salt Lamps are also healthy for you As well as making you happy because they are so pretty, they purify the air in your house. I love the soft natural neutral color of the lamps. Ranging between light soft washed out pinks and beige with an orange tint. There is a natural pattern in the salt of veins and specks like a marble slab might have. No two are alike, so they are all wonderful additions to any home. My cat loves to lick the salty lamp, she thinks they make great gifts! I have given two as birthday presents and my friends were thrilled. My sister bought one right after she saw mine and fell in love with it. Make somebody in your life happy with a great gift of a Salt Lamp today. Thy are sure to start conversations when company come over...And sure not to be returned the next day.

I had frankly never seen a Natural Air Purifying Himalayan Salt Lamp with Neem Wood Base, before I received one as gift. It was a very creative gift and one that I have been very pleased with. This sits about eight inches tall so it's by no means as massive as it looks in the picture. It sits nicely on an end table. I keep mine in my living room on an end table and everyone just thinks it's a pretty lamp. This really is actually made from natural Himalayan salt crystals hand mined in the Himalayan Mountains! It really is salt! Once it's turned on it is a very pretty amber color that is calming and provides light without interfering with television watching or begin too blinding late at night. This supposedly emits negative ions and cleans the air of pet dander, pollen, smoke, dust, etc. but I haven't noticed any particular difference while using it. If you're looking for an air purifier I'd go with a manufactured air purifier, but this is a very pretty lamp that may provide some extra benefits besides soft, warm light.
