Air conditioners are much better, but this Vornado fan is powerful and cools the air very well. We have a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim for our railroad flat style downstairs, which I LOVE, but we could not afford to service it last year, and we cannot afford to service it this year as well, so it cools only one large room really well and we have ceiling fans and this big Vornado, and it most certainly cools the entire downstairs well. But you really cannot have any loose papers or anything light in the way, or it will be blown around like a tornado. And the base for it comes off too easily so you have to be very careful when you move it around. My husband put it in the basement at the end of summer last year, and we are still looking for the pedestal!

Before I started using this, I only heard from my friend and knew that Vornade is the top choice when it comes to fan. It is really unbelievable famous for its fan product. Everywhere, everyone knows this brand. Howevr its price is not pleasing or cute at all. I got this one when it was on sale during thanksgiving holidays. I really enjoy having this now. FL is getting so hot now!! It helps to move air efficiently and decreases my utility bill. This can be placed in bathroom or living room (I live in a one bedroom student apartment) and function well. Vornado fans are built really sturdy and stable After all i am still not a big fan of its looking! All black and not fancy! If you are thinking about buying Vornade, you may start with the small and cheaper one.

I don't know what it is about my room but it is just always so hot and stuffy during the summer days. While the rest of the house is still hot, my room is just extremely hot, just sitting in there will make you sweat and feel short of breathe. You don't notice the breathing problem actually until you walk out the room and notice how much cooler the rest of the house is and how much easier it is to breathe. You are depriving yourself of oxygen just being in there... it can't be healthy, but when I'm at home, there isn't anything to do around the house except for the video games in my room. After messing around with some cheaper fans my parents had around I finally found this fan which does an excellent job circulating air and actually is able to cool down the room without making it too noisy or taking up too much room either. I love this fan!

Let me start off by saying this is one of the most powerful fans I've ever bought. Not only is it a fan, but it works GREAT as an air circulator. The Air circulator helps you ventilate fresh air so that your surrounds will not feel stuffy or stale. This fan works VERY WELL in not only little rooms, but larger rooms also. The product states that it blows air up to 100 feet and I believe this, because this fan puts out! One of the great things about it also is that it's energy efficient. In the summer time, when it's 95 degrees out and you want to kick on your air conditioner full blast, think twice if you own this fan. My husband will usually run our air conditioner around 72 degrees. With this fan running in our main living space, we usually run our AC at about 75 - 76 degrees and this fan keeps the room cooled to about 72. So it actually saves us a little money on our electric bill. This fan has a unique design that allows you to position the fan any way you would like. I also like that the height is adjustable and there are 3 set speeds on it, so you can set it to what you most comfortable. Over all, I'd HIGHLY recommend this product to a friend and/or family members.

Because our previous home lacked greatly in insulation and air conditioning, we became use to having fans in every room and for sleeping.  So when we moved into our new home, even though it was an energy rated home, we had to get fans to circulate the air in every room.  Call it waht you want, but we now longer wanted just average box fans any more.  So after much research, the Vornado fan was hands down the best rated fan on the market.  In addition, styling was much more pleasing to the eye and with the 783B's pedestal, we didn't have to have a chair in each room to put the box fan on so the air was better directed.  The fan has three speeds and while the highest speed is extremely loud, the low speed is quiet and still powerful enough to circulate air through our largest room.  The middle speed is a little louder but still bearable and useful for window days when the weather is nice. The fan is easy to disassemble and easy to clean as needed.

We bought the Vornado stand fan when our air conditioning was out for a few days.  We were genuinely surprised at how well it cooled not one but two large rooms.  This was a huge feat considering it was 85 degrees outside.  I like the adjustable stand/pedestal which allows the fan to be at a comfortable height while delivering air in an efficient manner. It has 3 speeds ( low, medium, and high).  Ours stayed on high until after the AC was fixed.  It is now a staple in the master bedroom where it is most often on low or medium to circulate air flow.  The other nice thing is that is very quiet.  The Vornado has a lifetime warranty on the motor so you won't have to replace fans all the time. The only thing that I would have liked is if it had the ability to oscillate but it still outputs a lot of air!  The Vornado stand fan was a little pricier than I would normally pay for a fan but it has been well worth the money!
