Our previous home we rented was old and poorly insolated with an old A/C, so the big box fans were a must to keep cool in our Texas summers. But when we moved into our own home, I made sure that this home was energy efficient and it was. But because of the older home, we got use to having the breeze created by the box fans, but my wife was not ready to put the big bulky box into out new home. So after much research, I discovered the Vornado brand and their various models. The Flippi model is what I choose to put in the kid's rooms and I have not regret this decision since. It provides a nice flow of air that satisfies our children but is quiet enough to allow them to sleep soundly. The compact size didn't make us have to arrange their rooms to accomondate a larger fan because they fit neatly on top of the dressers.
