I bought the wet to dry Vidal Sasson straightener for my duaghter as a Christmas present last year. I was told time and time again that if I didn't pay a lot for a hair straightener that it would pull her hair out, over heat, or even burn her har. If that wasn't a problem, it wouldn't last a month. Well, she has been using this iron successfully for several months now. She does loose a few hairs now and then, but I think they are already loose. She doesn't feel any pain like they are pulling out anyway. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't rest firmly on it's outsides...meaning it rolls to it's side where the heated plates lay very near where they could overheat the sink top. The iron heats up fast and does a very good job. Daughter gets up at 6 a.m. for the bus, so she prefers to shower in the evening. Having a good straightener allows her to get more sleep!
