The Vicks cool mist humidifier is great to have around. Winters can get dry with all the heating we use, so when things are too dry or our kids have croup cough, we put the humidifier on for several nights. It does what its supposed to do by adding moisture to the room. The canister is easy enough to fill. Just twist the bottom off (that can be a little tough at times), then put it under the tub faucet. When its full you snap it into the base, which fills the bottom up with water. The dial allows you to choose the level of humidity that you want. Above are the pros. Here are my issues with the humidifier: I have active kids. On several occasions they have knocked into it and spilled quite a bit of water from the base onto my carpet. Also, the inside is kind of impossible to clean, so even though it gets dusty in there, there's really no way to wash it off. That dusty area is the spot that is misting up your room. If you are sensitive to dust or mustiness then you would not be pleased.

We ALWAYS have a humidifier around for just in case someone wakes up with a croup cough. Overall, we have been pleased with our Vicks Cool MIst Humidifier. It pushes out a lot of mist to help the child's airways open up. It is a little noisy, but sometimes that makes me feel better because it gives a "white noise" effect that will hopefully help the child sleep. We ONLY do cool mist humidifiers with our children because we do not want them accidentally burned by the hot ones. On a bit of a side note, which pretty much goes with All humidifiers, why are the filters so expensive? I've tried using distilled water to keep the filter from growing gunk, but I haven't noticed a difference, so I just stock up on several filters and when we need to the humidifier, we put in a new filter. Hey, I'd rather have the child healthy than breathing in growing bacteria. Our Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier is great for kids with croup.

This VICKS humidifier had treated us well! We bought it when my oldest son was a baby and its been great ever since. Yes, it is big and slightly noisy, but it does its job. The best part about it is that you can stick a VICKS vapor pad in the little slot and it soothes the whole room with the VICKS smell, which is great when the little one has a cold. Cleaning is fairly easy, just hard to dry it out after use because its not big enough to get a hand in the opening to pat dry. Cleaning around the filter is easy though. No small spaces for the hard water to build up on. Overall, we love this humidifier just wish it was a little smaller. Design It's too big for me.

Easy to use and does the job I have had this Vicks cool mist humidifier for a couple of weeks after my other one stopped working, Our of the box the Vicks cool mist humidifier is easy to setup and get going you don't even have to read the instructions to figure it out. You just pour the water in and adjust the dial on the found to the desired setting and you are good to go. The water tank lasts thru the night only down side is depending on the size of the room you are using this in you may need to fill this up more then once a day to keep the room at the humidity you are looking for but its a trade off you give to have a small compact unit the does not take up a lot of room also the unit it very quite compered to other models I have had it the past. Would recommend to friends and family.

My family and I were on a 2 week vacation in Arizona over the summer. It was incredibly dry there, drier than any place I've ever been before! We were staying in a rented condo, and after one night all our lips were chapped, our skin was itchy, and our breathing was raspy. We decided to go out and buy an inexpensive humidifier at a local store just to use while we were in town. The price was right for the humidifier, which was our first concern. It did an adequate job, though I'd say it was on the weak side. We used it in the bedroom, which wasn't huge, and it definitely didn't humidify as well as the units we have at home. Granted, the air was much drier than we were used to, but I still felt like it wasn't very powerful. I did like that could run for many hours, and it was easy to fill. It was kind of loud though. Decent choice if you want something very basic and inexpensive!

We have this for a few years. We change a filter every 6 months. It is not too loud, but not too quiet. You can hear it is on. The nice thing about this is hold quite a water and one tank will last over night easy. And you will see when it is low to refill. Operation is easy, too. Just adjust how much mist you want to have. To refill, just turn the tank up side down and pour filtered water. I simply put in the sink and let the water run until fill-up. The only thing I don't like about is it is a big Humidifier. It might be hard to find where to place this. But it looks nice with clear blue color. It's give and take. It's big, but you don't have to fill it up as often as the smaller one.

The Vicks 1.2 gallon cool mist humidifer is great to use when you or your children are sick. The cool mist helps you breathe even with the worst cold or flu. I have used it for several years and will replace it with the same machine if it ever breaks. It is easy to use and clean which is important. Output Volume The cool air mist that come out of the machine is enough to help you breathe with in a couple of minutes. Ease of Cleaning I love the way it is so easy to keep clean which is important when you are using a cool mist. You want the air coming out to be clean air so you can rest and get well sooner. Durability I have used it for several years and it keeps on working every time any one in my family gets sick. It allows you to be able to breathe with a stuffing nose so that you can sleep better.

We bought this humidifier for our baby and toddler's room in the winter, but find the design to be really poor. The water reservoir is barely nestled in to the larger unit, and is easy to dislodge - even my nine-month could knock it over and get water everywhere, and it look professional carpet cleaners to get the damp musty smell out. Another design flaw is that it's difficult to fill the reservoir with water in the first place, needing two hands while leaning over the tub, so that's not simple, either. Also, this humidifier is louder than I would have expected, although I don't have any other humidifiers to compare it to.

I have purchased 4 different types of humidifiers before getting this one. This is the only one that can run every day all day and not leak or break. Output Volume Keeps air nice and moist. Performance I have had two of these over a year and they have not stopped working. Ease of Cleaning The base and reservoir are easy to clean but the half where the motor and output of mist are is a pain. I am not sure how the company thinks you are going to clean the mold out of there but we had to unscrew every screw on it but it still wouldn't come all the way apart. I also use a drop of bleach in the water along with dawn. Let it soak for an hour and then rinse well. To clean the parts I can't reach I put the tiniest drop of bleach in the reservoir so when it runs it can hopefully get the rest of the nastiness that is in there. Durability Nothing has broke off yet. Design I like that the reservoir tank has a handle for easy carrying to refill. Also has a small spot for vicks pads to release vick smell into the air.

My husband purchased the **Vicks V3500 1.2 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier **almost a month ago, as our room was very hot, dry and full of static electricity, and it was taking a toll on our sinuses, hair and skin. He saw this humidifier on sale and decided it was worth a shot. Our room is about 13.5' x 15' and this humidifier does a great job of keeping the air moist. We've noticed from day one an improvement in our sleep, and we have stopped being zapped every time we go to make the bed! Only complaints about this cool mist humidifier: The fan motor is not quite, the lowest setting is a tolerable hum, but the two higher settings really are loud, and the water tank gurgles a couple times an hour when it lets more water into the humidifier. You do get used to both of those things though. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone needing some moisture put back into their air. The Vicks cool mist really does do a good job. Edit: This was put away for a while and when we took it back out to use it it started leaking and we cannot figure out why. Not small leaks either, as in water -everywhere-. I downgraded to 3/5 stars instead of 4/5 due to this, not sure if we got a faulty one or what...
