I love the Viactiv Carmel chews, they taste great and it's better than taking a big calcium pill. I would definitely recommend the chews to people who are looking for an alternative besides taking pills.

My entire life I have been switching back and forth between different brands of calcium pills trying to find one that I can swallow for more than a month at a time. I always start out so strong and as time passes get completely grossed out by taking such huge pills. A few years ago I found these chews which come in both chocolate and caramel. The caramel is definitely better than the chocolate ones but neither really taste like candy. If you like eating caramels you probably will not like eating these calcium chews. They are much chalkier then real caramels and will sometimes leave a funny after taste in your mouth. When I first purchased them I thought they were great. They really are a much better option than those gross huge pills but they are still not yummy and delicious like everyone else says. They don't taste like candy at all but they are better than pills!

I always have a box of these so that I can take one each day. I can trust that I am getting what women need for nutrients. It helps that they taste like candy and that I can chew them instead of swallow them with a liquid drink. These are reasonably priced and always available at the stores where I shop. I cannot live without these.

When I was visiting my mother-in-law, she gave me a caramel-flavored Viactiv Calcium Chew. It wasn't exactly a Kraft caramel, but it wasn't bad, just sweet and a bit bland, presumably because it's not really buttery. I had been wondering if my multivitamin really provided enough calcium, so this seemed like a good choice and I bought a box for myself. By the end of that box, though, I got a bit bored with the flavor and tried a box of the sugar-free chocolate-flavored Viactiv Calcium Chews, thinking they would be similar to Tootsie Rolls. Unfortunately, I found it to be a little too chalky, and the chocolate flavor wasn't deep enough to cover it up. I like having something sweet after meals, and I had hoped that Viactiv Calcium Chews would satisfy my sweet tooth, but they're not candy-like enough for that! All in all, I'll probably buy the caramel ones again from time to time, but I'm still on the hunt for a calcium supplement that I like better.

These calcium supplements combine a great chocolate "candy" with nutrition... what could be wrong with that? I really have a hard time taking supplements that need to be swallowed whole. A lot of times they have a bad flavor to them, and they also seem like they would be hard to digest. So... I found these chews so helpful in that area. They are easy to chew and swallow, and I would assume that they are easy to digest, as well. The taste of these chews is really similar to any chocolate candy that I like to eat. I love that I can't tell the difference between these supplements and a candy. It is so much easier for me to get my calcium in, this way. The price of these supplements is a bit steep, but it may be worth it. My conclusion: Overall, I really appreciate these supplements. If you have trouble taking other calcium supplements, you should definitely give these a try, as they are unlike any others.

I really needed to take a calcium supplement so chose to try these Viactiv chews. Maybe I thought it would be like chewing up a nice yummy chocolate piece of candy and therefore I would remember to take them. But I was wrong! These things do not taste good. Even though they are chewy, they are kind of chalky and just left a very bad taste in my mouth. I really wanted to like these so that I would have a calcium supplement that I would remember to take, but these just were not for me. I do like the fact that it has vitamin D incorporated into the chew. A lot of people forget that you need vitamin D to help your body process the calcium. I am still on the lookout for another type of calcium supplement to take. If you are picky about tastes and textures, especially of vitamins, then this one may not be for you. But if you can get over the fact that it isn't like a gourmet chewy caramel, then maybe it would be a good option for you. My taste buds just refused this one.

Although food is definitely the best way to get calcium in your diet (and the best absorbed), as women we all know we don't get enough calcium in our diets and need to supplement as we get older. I thought I was doomed to swallowing a constant pill box of vitamins every morning, but was so happy to have a friend recommend these. She said he doctor recommended them to her as the best calcium supplement and after taking them I agree. I love the chocolate flavor and they are just the right amount of chewy. They don't stick to my teeth (a good thing especially when you have dental work to be concerned about) and they aren't to hard either. The chocolate flavor tastes very much like indulging on a piece of chocolate and since we all know we aren't supposed to do that every day, this is a nice way to splurge while doing something your body needs. I am sure a woman thought of a way to make chocolate a healthy part of our day!

My doctor recommended that I take calcium supplements since I am not over 50. I tried the ones you had to swallow, but they were so big I could not swallow them. I thought this would be a good alternative. These are so expensive though. I wish manufacturers would offer a sample size of these so people could try them before committing to buying a whole package. The texture of these are not like a caramel, which is what I was expecting. They are kinda gritty tasting and not really chewy. Also, the flavor is not like a chocolate, which again is what I was expecting. It is more of just a sugar taste which is not exactly nasty but it is not exactly good either. They also leave your mouth feeling kinda slimy after you eat them. These were not as good as I was hoping and expecting and, for the price, were not what I wanted. I did finish them because I hate to waste money and product. I'm not sure they work because I have no way of telling. I am still searching for a good calcium product.

I first tried a chocolate flavored Viactiv chew product over 10 years ago and have continued to use Viactiv chews since. As a middle aged woman with a family history of osteoporosis I try to be proactive preventing with health issues from arising. I am not religious about my calcium supplementation, but I am concerned about bone health and so I pop calcium supplements fairly regularly. Of the over the counter products I have tried, this one ranks the highest. It is tasty, like candy. It is easily chewed (not hard so that you feel you need a dental exam after). I had no side effects with this supplement. The price is in line with other products so that was no issue. Also, I like that it is wrapped like candy and is portable so you can throw a handful in your purse and go. It was recommended by my physician so I felt it was safe to take. The product has changed a bit over the years, but to me, the consumer, I cannot tell/taste a difference. I would recommend this for other health conscious women/men.

So the first thing that I must say is that I am a very frail woman and have been given the recommendation of taking daily calcium supplements. Viactiv is my absolute favorite brand and has the best flavor as far as vitamin chews go. I pick this version and brand above all other calcium supplements. The caramel taste delicious. It is truly a daily treat for me, as I'll take two everyday after lunch. This is one item where I really have to watch for sales to come and then stock up as best I can. You really have to watch the expiration dates too on these depending on where you purchase them. Is this product making better and stronger? I really can't say, but it is reassuring to know at least that I'm getting calcium that I need into my system. I would not recommend the generic versions of this as I have tried a few. Those left a nasty aftertaste in my mouth and I didn't look forward to taking them. I would highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a daily source of calcium.
