I like this because it's easier for my 5yr old to play this while my older boys play the game boys.  The games are more appropiate for his age and the vsmile pocket is easy to use for him.  He really enjoys this game and I am glad we spent the money on it.  It was worth it.  And great for traveling.

The great part about this is that you can take it anywhere.  It also plugs into any tv with audio/video plugs. So why not let the kids think their getting over. They get the satisfaction of playing video games and you get the joy of knowiing they are learning.

This is a great way for kids to have fun and learn. Not only can you plug it into the t.v. but you can carry it with you. That makes it great for long car trips. The kids can be entertained and thay can learn at the same time. I suggest this for anyone who has young kids who are not ready for a gameboy. It has so many different games and it is very reasonable!

Great system for kids to take on the road with which i really like and love it so much . your child can learn alot of different thing's and make's them learn faster and easier it's is portable and easy - to -use with nice pretty colorful screen and with a lot of fun game's to play with and it also straight into the television and it is great for educational purpose's . i love it and my child love's it so much to which i am very glad for .but the batteries die's to quicky and i would always have to replace them immediatlely . i also had just bought the car charger recently to for this little v tech v s,mile pocket learning system . i really love this portable game system and would reccomend every little child to have one if you would want something the child could learn from because it is very easy to use and learn from with all of the fun games for educarional reason's and really love it .

We have the Vtech V.Smile Pocket Learning System in addition to another popular educational learning system.  This system is much heavier than the other system that we own, and bigger.  The Vtech V.Smile Pocket Learning System has some good educational games and my kids enjoy playing them.  I do like that it uses buttons instead of a stylus.  The V.Smile has stopped recognising cartridges on a regular basis.  We have to blow into the cartridge dock, re-insert, and hope it works.  If my kids have a choice they usually want to use the other system we have, (especially my eight year old).  The youngest (2.5) is still figuring out the buttons, as she just started playing games on it, but my five year old has it down.  The games are spendy, and it goes through batteries faster than the other system as well.  If I had to pick I'd go with the other popular system, but since we have it we put it to good use.

A very educational toy but it does not work for very long. My son has had it for about 4 years and has not played with it in about 2 years because none of the games work anymore. The games aren't cheap and neither was the system. I would only recommend this if the system has been through an overhaul and games are made to last.

I am on the road a lot with me children because we all go to visit my parents a couple times a week and they live a few hours away. It is very easy for my kids to get bored during the long drive so I like to buy them toys they can use in the car. This Vtech is a game I bought because it was interactive and it offered something different than books for my child to do. The game is nice because it is small so it is not a problem to carry it in the car. The batteries are very easy to replace and the compartment is child proof. I like the different games I am able to get for this game. It also has a good sized screen and it is not hard for the kids to see the graphics. I wish the game was cheaper because it cost me a lot of money to purchase. Also, the individual games that you insert into the console are expensive too. I like the game because it plays in color so that makes it better for younger kids to use.

The V-tech V-Smile Pocket Handheld Gaming System is a great educational toy for young children. The device is large enough that little hands with limited fine motor skills can manipulate the keys. The games are easy to understand and don't require much adult help. The games are all clearly labeled with appropriate age groups on them and all are educational. The V-Smile Pocket is great for traveling or on the go. We actually purchased one for our daughter when we went on a long trip. It kept her busy. The batteries seemed to hold up pretty well. It always depends on how much the toy is being used, but we only changed the batteries every few weeks even when the VSmile was being used quite a bit. The game system is also very durable. Like all small kids, our daughter dropped hers more than once. It didn't harm the system at all. My only compliant is the graphics. They are very basic compared to something like a DS, but given the price and the projected audience, I think the graphics serve the purpose.

My child (preschooler) received the VTech V.Smile Pocket Learning Game System as a Christmas gift.  My child has loved playing this game system.  This game system is poratable but somewhat heavy for little hands.  It has been dropped a few times but so far has survived each fall.  The games are somewhat expensive for this system. The V.Smile is perfect to keep him busy in the car or at doctor appointments.  The volume button can be adjusted so we can decide on the level depending on where we at.  There is also a way to adjust how dark or light you need the screen.  The games are educational and are made with famiiiar characters.  There are plenty of games to choose from with a variety of age levels.  There is help throughout the game so that your little one does not get frustrated with not being able to figure out an answer or what to do. I like that it can also be plugged into a television screen.  I do not find that the batteries die quickly.  I plan for my one year old to use this game as well. So far it is holding up for this to be a possibility.

I bought a VTech V.Smile for my niece for Christmas last year, and she absolutly loves it.  It always keeps her busy on car rides and on a couple of plane trips she's been on with my brother.  The best part is it's helped suplement her math education actually giving her an edge in her class!  What they advertise is true too, kids don't even realize that they're learning and honing their skills, all they know is it's fun.  She's played with it non-stop since, and it's held up very well considering sometimes she can be a bit rough-and-tumble.  She loves all of her various games. As I've said before it really helps on long trips to have something to keep her entertained.  She gets bored fairly easily usually but she never seems to get tired of her VTech.  It's true that the games and the system are a little bit on the expensive side, but compared to nintendo systems they're not all that bad at all, plus you're giving an educational gaming system instead of a mind-numbing one.
